OK, so I moved from the Chicago to a little town in Colorado very similar to South Park. For those of you who have never been there Chicago is a real city with something to do every minute of every hour of every day. For those of you that have never seen the show, South Park is where people get so bored they start home brew genetics projects just prove how weird they are.
Since moving here I have been...well...bored. Since most folks around here are with out a doubt missing a few gears in their transmissions do to a life time of boredom I have taken to enjoying the Great Outdoors in my spare time. Since it's summer and warm mostly this means some of the best trout fishing money can't buy. The rest of time is divided between work, sleep, DoD, and hunting down any living relatives that do not suffer from BBFS (Boredom Brain Fry Syndrome).
This past week my cousin and her husband (who just got his 20 retirement from the US Navy) moved back home along with their 2 kids after being living in cool places like Okinawa, Hawaii, and Sydney. They are actually looking forward to the boredom. Yes, I know it's hard to believe but you'll have to trust me. They just want to be bored. In the mean time they are living off of the excitement generated by not knowing when the Navy will ship them their clothes, furniture, the kids toys, and basically the rest of their self-extensions.
Anyway, I had nothing really to offer them as a house warming present since I make about one fifth of what I used to in Chicago. So I got them the best free thing I could...trout. My cousin expressed joy that bordered on sarcasm at the idea of getting a Wal-Mart bad full of 4 dead fish, so I was not sure I had done the right thing. However today my cousin brought me a little bottle of sauce and some stir fried trout. I'm not sure what's in the sauce but the stir fry is just straight up trout filet and veggies. One thing I am sure about is that this is the best darn fish I have eaten in years. When winter comes and there is 2 feet of snow on the ground I think I'll ask her to teach me to cook a few things.
