Yep, and I just found out that my CPU blows too much hot air on to my North Bridge when I game now. Just bought a Noctua NH-D14, hopefully it will help. (Not looking forward to taking apart my entire system that I built two weeks ago just to put the backplate on...)

It will help bundles. That's why I will never again buy a case without a hole on the back of the motherboard try for access to CPU cooler back plates.

Oh, mine has a hole for a back plate, my motherboard just has the holes about 5mm too far down for it too work.

Has anyone else had problems with VMware and i7? I hit Sending discover... and it stops, not using any CPU power :-(

i even deleted all the files and started from scratch, and it always gets to sending discover, then times out

I used the same setup that FreakingHell sent to you, no problems, except for CPU heat, but I just fixed that. Bought myself a NH-D14, brought my 100% load temps from 65C to 42C!

connected directly to the cable modem. every once in a while i go from modem -> router -> lan, but that's just occasionally
