Folding@eGO team, round 2! (If you don't know what folding is, please read)

I can start folding again, but I can't use the SMP client (or I don't want to) because I am using a stock cooler.

If you're worried about temps, you can always tell the SMP client to only use some of the cores, or use all of them at only a certain percentage.

For example you could fold on a quad and only use 2 cores, or use all 4 cores but only use 75% of each core. Or you could always fold on only 2 cores 50% each, but that would hardly be worth it.

Well, I started folding...

Nothing better to do with it while I'm asleep, and since I have a Magic Jack, the comp's on 24/7 anyway!

anybody else not getting 100% usage out of all cores in the new smp client? i haven't had full usage for weeks now..

You probably made a mistake setting it up. All 4 of my cores are at 100% usage all the time except when downloading/uploading.

Go through and double check all of the settings.

i didn't change anything though, and before it would use 100% all the time..guess i'll have to go through all the settings again tho..

back up and running at 100% :) need to move my comp to the living room though, my room is burning up with all this heat!

Hey all ... Its getting warmer over here and my GPU's have been heating up into the low to mid 80's with the fan set to 75 % . Even in game i have noticed temps have been up , more than last year. L4D2 got to 84c last nite , this means its time to remove the GPU shroud and clean her out completely , maybe even reseat the core with some fresh TIM. Anybody have a good link to do a procedure such as this ? Im using EVGA GTX 260's 216sp 55nm to be exact. And i have already pulled the card a few times shootin it with some compressed air , trying to not push the dust in and get it to blow out but i just dont think its working the best. I clean my case every month and have a side 120mm blowing right over the GPU and a bottom mounted 140mm blowing directly up so the GPU fan is sucking in fresh air (well i dont know how fresh the air is exactly i have that nasty habit ;-)

I still haven't got the SMP core up and running , the VMware was just a pain to me and didn't have time or patience to screw with it any more.

BTW ambient temps are 76f .

I think I should start doing this too. Haha its for such a great cause :]

Cleaned out my GPU and reseated the Sink with some MX-3, tons of dust bunnies disrupting my babies breathing are long gone. Load temps dropped around 16-18c. Bump

My computer nonstop crashed with Folding@Home, and the worst part is it would start in my processes, use up 86% of my CPU and wouldn't exit out, i had to go and remove it from my registry and delete the programs, then wipe my computer of any traces of it :\

Didn't happen on my laptop though -.-
