Champions Online

Can anyone give me the rundown on how you get into the open beta??
 
You signup with legit info, you download the cilent, and play. Closed beta is a whole other story...

EDIT: Never mind. Fileplanet screwed over the open beta with there stupid subscription fees. Your gonna have to search for a give-away contest.


Then your characters get swiped at final game release.

Planning on pre-ordering Champions Online within the next few days. Waiting for my bro to send me an amazon gift card. I've been waiting for this game since last summer. Hopefully by tomorrow. I can't even play any other game now cause I'm going crazy lol. I'll post my IGN when I get a chance to pre-order it.
 
Duality: pre-order from some place that offers open beta access. You'll also get some cool bonuses depending on where you purchase

yeah. right now they're promising that anything you buy will be cosmetic only, or will have a free equivalent. somehow I find that hard to believe though
 
I'm a bit confused, if I was in the CB, can I play in the open beta or do I have to BUY my OB-key or what?
 
I pre-ordered the game but I'm still waiting for my beta key... customer service said it'll be 24 hours...
 
well don't worry. we're all currently RAAAAAAAAAAAAAGING at the patch updater. 9 hours and it's.....17% complete, and that's after at least 20 restarts.

Yea it was a rough first day for open beta, but come 2am (central) they released a fix and a patcher for the ... umm patcher. It was great to actually get to see the "play" button! :drool:

then, more wonderful news as soon as I hit that "play" button... "Server down for maintenance." I almost imploded... :facewall: :facewall: :facewall:

Sigh ... maybe be able to play tomorrow... pfft :chair:
 
More reasons to wait until after a game has been launched a few months before jumping on board. You aren't racing anyone. The game will be there, no rush...
 
I'm still waiting for my key.... customer service told me it'll be another 24-48 hours. Apparently I wont be playing this beta at all.

Personally I am fed up with fileplanet. Especially when they say: "Free Champions Online Beta Key!"

Then they ask for $6 a month.
 
I got mine cause I preordered but Amazon.com is being ridiculous about it, no one seems to know what it is, how long it'll take or who to talk to to get it.
 
I was playing the game for several hours today and it was a lot of fun! I got my guy to level 10 in Canada, and now I'm gonna start leveling in the desert. I'm buying this game for sure!

they will do the exact same thing they did for playstation 2's Everquest, they will either let you use game cards, or credit card billing like any mmo.

dont worry zippy, i heard Aion's open beta is supposed be a file planet special aswell, which includes the $6 for the month subscription
 
Got to play for the 1st time yesterday and this game is hella fun, wow i'm impressed. The graphics are really detailed and the physics are great. It made me want to do a eGO "Champions" version of our logo.
