So i found out my problem..... read hundreds of posts on the steam website.... its comcast. People call them and they refuse to believe that it is a problem on their end. The problem is with them and qwest yet they refuse to believe it is on their side. Comcast is ridiculous and so many people ay for what is, quite frankly, TERRIBLE service. Anyone else have problems with comcast?

ya comcast is knowen for throtling downloads and p2p traffic and redcing the bandwidth of heavy users

Yup, I bailed from comcast because of throttling, had me down to 170k :< Getting faster speeds with DSL, how sad is that?

Yeah right now there is an issue with comcast users not being able to log into steam, or if they do most can not access the community part.

Luckily I can log in...but no community =/

I'm probably the only one who has none or minor problems with Comcast. That's just me.

I'm having problems logging into one of my steam accounts, the account I need today to play! :(

I have 3 accounts and all of them work perfectly fine except for one account. I don't get it..

I never have any problems with Comcast. But then I know people that have nothing but trouble. On my 12mbps connection i used to get about 15. I have upgraded to the DOSCIS 3.0 at 22mbps and get over 50 with powerboost.

Did you have them come out and check your lines? I know when we first got it before it was Comcast, there was an issue with the wiring outside the house.

So it's Comcast that's causing this :cursing: problem for logging into :cursing: Steam? :cursing: you Comcast. :cursing you and your entire family. I'm going to :cursing: into your :cursing: :cursing: and a :cursing: until you :cursing: :cursing: gibberish :cursing:
And I'm annoyed.

Weird, I'm actually able to log into Steam while on Comcast today. It did have me re-log in instead of the auto startup though.
But yes, they are terrible. They usually tend to throttle me when I'm getting close to the download speed I pay for.

Yeah me too. Though I have noticed comcast gives me unstable dl speeds. It can go to as high as 2mb/sec but it goes down to 1mb, then 700k, then 300k, then stay at 450k, then go to 170k, then 360k, then stays around 500-800k the remainder of the download. It sucks. Whenever I get my own place I'll be using FiOS

I called them and they said they didn't low down the speeds. I told this to 2 people and they said we are not doing that lol. Also i asked them about being unable to log into steam and again they said to me its not on our side. She said if she was able to load the website then its not us and i told her that is not that its that i am unable to connect to there serverss. she was lost and i droped the call

Comcast is in my humble opinion, a piece of (word I'm not allowed to say here at EdgeGamers.)

Had it in Pennsylvania, and my god, was it terrible. Not only did the connection just plain crap out entirely half the time depending on what time of the year it was, but my download speeds were consistantly erratic, and their customer service is terrible.

Right now I've just got a local company for my ISP, and I'm really very happy with it.

So long as I am able, I will never in my life go with Comcast again. I would sooner nail my hands to my desk than get Internet service from Comcast.

Talked to support. They said the IP was blocked. I tried unblocking the ip for store.steampowered.com

hate comcast sooo much...

There are so many other threads with the same problem. Theres really nothing we can do but wait.

Comcast has a been going on and off and on and off for days.

this just solidifies my hate for comcast. Luckily i've been using DSL and never went to comcast. my friend was paying for a 6 meg line and was lucky to ever test higher than 2. the only thing is i wish i could get a faster line but i'm happy with what i got.

I don't know how helpful your censored post was...

but yeah. Comcast ripped me off big time. Had to get off em.

I have the same upgraded package. I have three gamers in the house (me and both my sons), all with our own computers...we have no problems.
