I've been thinking about buying Aion, but I've been hearing a lot of bad things about Aion...

I heard that after level 30 the game becomes like Linage 2 Grind fest, and it takes around 14+ Hours for 44-45

I also heard that their are a lot of "Invisable Walls" in the game which make it feel not as sand boxxy as most MMO's

I'm looking for feed back. and your opinions on if Aion is worth the $50 for the box, and monthly fee?
 
I've been looking into it lately, and it looks like a pretty cool game, but I promised myself I'd stop playing MMO's for a longgg time. That's really what's holding me back, but it looks cool.

Haha and that 14+ hours thing doesn't sound too bad to me because damn I level slow in MMO's and I know it takes me longer to level than that.

I can't really help you on gameplay though. That'd be cool to beta test it.
 
Ehhh, I don't know what makes Aion so special or what people see in it. It's just another mmo.
 
Well its not that bad, in the 72 hours of the beta last weekend i played 50 hours maybe idk prob less...

got a ranger to 13 solo
got a sorcerer to 14 w/ a friend

so its not that bad of leveling, as long with friend or a tank or a cannon it works out pretty well and its a fun game compared to other ones Ive played.
 
I havent yet got a chance to play the beta version but on friday i will ;)
I just hope it aint like you said :(
 
I'd love to play it, and I have beta access, just can't get the stupid thing to work.
 
Im going to stay away from this MMO. Nothing really looks appealing to me.

You have to wait until the beta events such as this weekend, else it will block you. Also make sure you have an account for Aion, because I just made a Master Account without one for Aion so I lost bout 15 minutes of game play last event lol.
 
You also have to remember that the beta client is 1.0, which is the earliest client. They're already on 1.5, which is what NA release will be. They alleviated the grind ALOT in 1.5, adding more quests in the 25-50 and more exp per mob killed etc.

So they're actively trying to not make it as big a grind as possible. Give it a try.
 
Aion=Amazing, the invisible wall your talking about is when your flying, you bump into an invisible wall leading to an area that doesnt allow flying, and i got a Chanter to lvl 19 with my cousin and they are Unstoppable!!! sorcerers are very good aswell, but the chanter can heal faster than the sorcerer can dish out dmg, my answer to everyone is Buy it, dont think about it, buy it, and if your contesting about getting aion or champions online, i went and got a month subscription to fileplanet and it was a major waste of $6, champions=pile

I've been in the closed BETA it has been quiet enjoyable. I wish I had more time to play in the beta weekends, but my comp has been crap lately. I finally got it up and running again. Anyways. It's not wow, and it's a mixture of many different MMO's put together, quite nicely as well. They borrowed some elements of different MMO's and came up with a original story.

If anyone is going to be starting a EGO Alliance, do we need to talk to anyone here about it? I'm not sure.

I dont think we need one because right now theres 10 servers and if it becomes popular theres gonna be many more to come.

When the game is released I'll try to join the same server, it would be nice to actually know someone.

Yeah, apparently a lot of our members play on that server from the thread I posted bout 2 weeks back.
 
I liked it so much, I transferred my whole WoW guild over to it >.<
I made a forum post inviting those interested in Aion to my legion in the MMO thread.
Seems like a much more mature community in comparison WoW as well, which is a major + for me
 
Looks like a good game. Been staying away from subscription based MMOs for a while (WoW) and have been playing other things, mostly RTS, FPS... and maybe some Guild Wars. This looks pretty promising and since its been out for a while already, its gotten a nice clean up. I'll definitely be getting this. I'll post what my name is and will most likely be starting a guild with a buddy of mine. I will probably join the server that Rogue Sniper posted on earlier.
 
So, im assuming we all play on the Vezial or whatever server? and somsone makes an eGO Elyos and Asmo legion? Cuz ill be having a glad warrior on asmo and a cleric preist on elyos
