Other than playing lossless audio, and maybe a better EQ, what improvements to being an audio player would you like?

I agree that the Ipod should support flac and other lossless formats, but I greatly enjoy having games to play while riding the subway or bus. I also like the ability to check bank accounts, bus status, or just email and rss feeds when I'm near wireless and have time that needs killing. Not to mention, the ipod is the perfect companion for the crapper! Yes, penguin games and many of the hokey apps (beer drinker, light saber, bird indentifier) are easy to poke fun at, but there are a lot of good games (star defense especially) that are worth playing, and a lot of good apps that I use on a daily basis.

FLAC players do exist. They are as pricey as ipods and lack wifi capabilities. Most people will take the latter.

I wish Apple would put a better DAC in their players and focus on sound quality more like Cowon does, but also keep some of the features that people love on the iPod Touch. I would definitely trade games for better sound quality and codec support in an iPod. I wish I could use something like the Cowon or Zune HD, but all my music is tagged in iTunes and I'm just too lazy to retag 1000's of songs and convert them from Apple Lossless to FLAC/WAV uncompressed.

Hahaha good point, I could never imagine Apple doing something like that. They'd focus more on how glossy their backing is.

sad thing is....apple is already counter-attacking the Zune HD with the new ipod touch's but not much info has been released on the new ipods except that it will have a camera and im talking about the new ipod touch's and ipod nano's supposedly.
