Sometimes I wonder if we really need sections for RTS, since there's very few actual posts in those sections.

But I do agree, Starcraft is to this day one of the best RTS games I've ever played. The amazing map editor function is my favorite feature though; it's what gave the game such longevity after vanilla gameplay got boring for me.

But that aside, yes please...starcraft 1 forum. I still try and play at least 1 winning 4v4 a day.

Total Annihilation may have been great (I've heard great things about it, but haven't played it myself), but it doesn't have the same cultural or mainstream impact Starcraft has. I think it's mostly the Korea effect here, haha. It's a lot of that that has cemented SC as one of the most important RTS games, and probably one of the most important games in general.

Yes SC is easily the best RTS of all time.
Mainly because of the precision, strategy and multi-tasking necessary to play it. No other RTS or 1v1 game is close.

I've been an avid fan of the Foreigner and Korean progaming scenes for a long while.

My Terrans and I used to tear it up back in the day. I was all about siege tank leap frogging. At one point in my college life I was one of the most feared SC players on my campus. Don't take that wrong, it was a small private school...but still.

I was also the most feared AoE II player at the same school. The twang of twine from my British longbows made all who heard it wince and wet themselves.
