Hey guys. I just bought CoD:WaW off Steam yesterday for 50% off the original price (amazing deal!). When I started installing it, I noticed that the entire game itself is a total of 9920mb. That's a 9.92gb download! :cursing::facewall: So, I was wondering if there is any good reason for the game to be almost 10gb >.<

Yeah, it has ALOT of maps and zombie campaigns. And more coming soon.

thats weird!! i didnt get it from steam, with the game installed with multi and single player were just 5 gb :confused1:

I think that might be before installing updates for the game, Malalla. Steam usually includes the updates in the download right when you install the game because it's not from a disc so updates can be sent directly to you when you install.

It is 9GB because it contains lots of enjoyable content for you!

I believe my "COD:World at War" requirements were initially:

System Requirements: Hard Drive Space - 8 GB of free space

But the Steam download might include all the latest patches.

You are correct, Hec. It originally only required 8gb of free space. It now totals to almost 10gb.

Map pack 1(patch1.4) and 2(patch1.5) are like 3gb, the game should be getting more maps soon aswell.

Um, Textures, map packs (possible, as steam games in the store are fully updated, and there's been a lot of updates for the game I guess), a bunch of stuff though! I usually just try to buy games on CD, so it is quicker to install. But, the servers at steam in my opinion are excellent for their download speeds, considering that I've downloaded games like Max Payne 2 (I think 1GB or 3GB), and the first Far Cry (4GB) where done in 45 minutes. So much faster than torrent, and so much better.

Holy smokes, almost 10gb? No kidding?

Wow, I really don't think about things before I buy and download them. Well, I think about the purchase itself, but not the space. I mean, that's amazing.

Yeah, it truly is amazing! I started downloading it on Tuesday night & when I woke up the next morning, it was only at 53%. I then tried playing TF2 but the download made me have an average of 996ping, uber lag. I had to kill the download so I could play TF2 because I for some reason had an urge to play, lol. I started downloading it again around yesterday afternoon at 4pm & it's currently about 3pm now. It's been almost 12 hours & the download is currently at 94%. I expect it to be done in about another hour or two. This is the biggest game I have ever downloaded in the history of my gaming career :O

It's not that much considering most hard drives now a days are at least 500 gb :)

It's not that I'm worried about it taking up my hard drive space, since I have a 500gb hard drive. It's just that I'm amazed at how big this game is

Lol not as bad as Fear 2. Took me an entire day, it was 13gigs and I ended up beating the game in 1 single day. All that for nothing ya?

it comes with the game and all of its patches so you don't need to install patches and you dont need to update puckbuster
