There is no caption for this cartoon and for some of us there is no need for one. For the youngsters among us I will provide a little background info.

At the beginning of World War II the US army was still using mules to move light field artillery and ammunition. My father was drafted and started as a "mule skinner" before being sent to OCS. It was soon determined that wounding or killing a single mule would disrupt the use of an artillery piece. Internal combustion engines supplanted mule power. At the time the most common way to deal with a wounded mule or horse was to kill it with a pistol round. The dog face in the picture is apparently not used to this newfangled mechanical means of transport.

This cartoon has always been my favorite and it seems to be a good way to wrap up the series.

Nice peice of history I have just learn thanks for that mate and Im sure when the time comes I shall be able to use it and yr9 or yr10 history class because im learning about World War II

Well when I put up chapters 14 and 15 no body posted on them until after a month. For chapter 13, I got more responses from the Link I put in TF2 than the real deal here in DoD. Meanwhile somebody puts up their latest high score and gets four pages of posts. I may be dense but if you hit me over the head with a heavy enough 2 x 4 I will get the hint.

You can always check out my Bill Mauldin album in my profile or google his name for more toons.
