Build is DONE (Pics)

I don't think I saw anyone else comment this, but if you can just FIND a 64-bit home premium disc(home premium is what you said you had, right? Whatever version of 32-bit you have, if you find the 64-bit version you can install it). As others have stated 64-bit will be better for your system. or Go win7... that's my preference.

nice build good luck!

What I mean as pressure was more along the lines of having the right air circulation. I have seen many times before that the intake outtake balance was all wrong and there would be a pocket of air just stuck in the case and very circulating. Think of a tornado in your case the top face the side. That air would stay hot and never cool down.

Also Most video cards have their own coolers where it sucks the air in the blows it out of the case but it depends on the model of the card. The lower end just have the fan and heat sink that dissipate the heat.

i will build soon, but im still thinking of taking either the i7 920 or the amd phenom 955 BE, can u plz tell me the preformance of the phenom and btw great build!

not gonna hi-jack this thread, but i feel like i need to give some input.

I just build a new computer for a buddy using the AMD PII 955. I must say, this thing... compared to my dual core.... puts it to shame. It is an extremely fast processor, and i have not quite been able to test its full potential, but so far i have been very impressed. Im not going to say its better than a i7 though, cause its not. But if you are looking for a somewhat cheaper processor that it capable of doing well, this is one for you.

........well you cant really compare a duo core to a quad core. Once the clock speeds on the quad core are up theres no way a duo core is beating it. I have my Q6600 running at like 3.6-3.7 ghz and i mean its great but its getting a bit outdated compared to the newer processors. The thing is the 955 is only on par with the Q9550 which runs at slower clock speeds yet beats it in every category basically. zzz i already talked about this lol i guess i wont just restate everything i said before in a previous post.

Nice one, I have the same processor as well and it is beastly. But why the 8800GT of all things? :3

Well Eltimba didn't have the money for a new Vid Card. Though for his b-day in November he's gonna get a 260 and so will I when I get my build up.

dude next november..........get a GTX 300 series cards, they will be well within their year since debuting probably

The gtx 300's are coming out end of this year or beginning of 2010, the ATI 5 series cards are coming out end of this summer or end of this year.

Very nice computer man! 1 Thing though. Look into a new CPU Cooler... Stock ones are not good at all. At least that's for Intel. Not sure about AMD

Maaaaaan, you don't even knoow, this cooler is actually pretty good, I should have posted more pics of it.

I'll change it sooner or later but for right now, it gets the job done well.

If your not overclocking there is no reason for a better heatsink :)

How do you like the Cooler Master Storm Scout, I was looking into one myself

The i7 will preform about 30% better but for the price the Phenom is a way better option. Example:

i7: Motherboard: $250
CPU: $280 Total: $530

Phenom: Motherboard: $110
CPU: $200 Total: $310

(These are just the averages of the motherboard fo the required sockets.)

I hope this helps:)

Well, I'll try to do this one at a time.

Case: The case is awesome, I love the red LEDs, all black interior and the side panel. It was really easy to work with and hid the cables very nicely allowing me to have more airflow. Is it loud? a bit. I have the 3 standard case fans, the cpu fan, and 8800gt fan running, and it's doable.

CPU: This is a fast little bugger. I upgraded from a phenom 9500, and I definitely feel the difference, everything's a lot faster and I noticed that especially when opening programs. I used to wait like 5 seconds to open firefox, now it opens immediately. And no I don't plan on overclocking anytime soon.

Mobo: This is giving me problems. The first pci-e slot doesn't work. I can't get the hybrid sli to work. The front panel mic wasn't working with hd audio. I'm going to try to return it tomorrow and get a new one that will hopefully work better :/

RAM: One word...FAAAAST.

GPU: It's an 8800gt. I don't know why everyone's hating on it. For the price this card is awesome. I have a 17" flatscreen and I run my games at 1280x1024. SOOO much horsepower isn't needed. I run pretty much every game I have on the highest settings and get over 75 frames, but I like me my vsync, so I leave it on.

Shirt: It's 100% cotton and authentic Domo gear.
