Hey all. very excited that i got my Novint Falcon in today. i downloaded all the necessary items for DOD:S, and i jumped right in and started playing. at first, i thought "wow! this is pretty neat, i wonder how it will work with sniping." i jumped in as a sniper, and i soon realized that something was wrong. If you move the falcon too far to the left or right, it starts turning you around, which is fine. the only problem i had was when i was scoped, it did the same thing. so when i was getting ready to go around the corner to snipe someone, i went to far to the left and it starting turning me around, and at that point, i died :crying: . i was just wondering if this would be fixed at all. i like the turning around thing, but i think when you are scoped, this should be turn off.

It took a long time for me to get used to my Novint Falcon. I'm still not sure I prefer it to the old mouse+keyboard combo. Maybe it just has a learning curve and I'm getting too impatient with it.

you should be able to adjust the scale of the Falcon's movements to help in sniping. You can ask on Novint's boards, and we can help there

in terms of getting used to the Falcon, it takes about 20 hours before you start getting into your groove. Then depending on what kind of player you are (the better the player, often the longer the learning curve), another 20 hours or so, and you should generally be at/past your mouse skills - that's a pretty typical curve for core gamers that play online against others. For single player games, you should be up and running pretty much right away.

thx, tomnovint
