Need help with DirectX .

Hey, i need some help here,
i have a completely empty computer, where im trying to install warcraft 3. but the program keep shutting down , because i have a wrong version of direct x , but everytime im trying to reinstall direct x it wont work .
anyone who can help me?

I'll give it a shot, a couple questions: What doesn't work about it? The installing program gives some kind of error or the update just doesn't stick? What operating system are you using? What version of directx do you have now?

Well the directx simply doesnt work. First off all when i start warcraft it says that the directx is outdated and a newer version need installed. *

Tell us what version you have also. I am assuming for now that yours is not updated possibly so I will give you the download link for the newest one.

After you install that and you still get that error you can try a number of things. First right click Warcraft --> Run as Administrator. After you try that and it still fails you could also try reinstalling Warcraft. If none of what I posted works wait for someone else to come up with something.

i have version 10 , but it says , that it needs version 9 to run the game .

well even better if you have directX 10 cause 9 is the MINIMUM to be able to run the program smoothly

it might be the game make sure u have the latest patches for wow if u do not have latest patch u can recieve that error. it might be dx install fail it has only happened to me once but in XP not vista.. google uninstall dx in vista and then try reinstall.
