This is probably the best movie i have seen in a LONG LONG time. I recommend it to anyone even if you dont like sci-fi

Im with you on this GTghost, the film has just jumped in to my top ten favourite films of all time.

Everything about it is so nicely done.

Apparently Peter JAckson gave $30 million to the director and said 'make a film'.

Why doesn't that happen to me? Maybe I just don't move in the right circles.

If I was the main character, everything that I would have done I would have done it. Gore is usually not important, but in this movie all the deaths had some sort of meaning, the gore amplified the deaths, the aliens, the humans, each had an impact to show character, from those who enjoyed causing the gore, to those who fought to live, to those who were just hungry ;D. The one scene in MNU basement is a very good example, as Christopher was struck by what was done. That scene couldn't have happened without gore.

Give it a shot. I enjoyed it immensely, and not because I'm a sci-fi nerd. I enjoyed it because it was a believable story, and highly entertaining, even emotionally tugging.

I thought the movie was quite funny especially how the alien weapons insta-splode people in to chunks the size of jelly beans.

I recommend you go see this movie, it raises the bar for all sci-fi movies and if you're not a sci-fi fan this movie will make you one. It's a amazing summer blockbuster.

I gotta say, the movie is strange. I'm not sure how I feel about it right now, all I can say is that it wasn't nearly what I was expecting (not necessarily good or bad.) And I have to disagree, this movie is not better than Star Wars. Independence Day, maybe, but Will Smith is pretty hard to out-preform. Ignoring the cast and looking at the story, D9 is better than ID, but definitely not Star Wars.

Unimaginably gorey? No. That's Saw 1-6, come on all ready! (I hate modern horror movies, all you hear is people screaming for 2 hours. Just shut up and die.) Unnecessary gore? Yes.

The gore makes it more realistic. Would it be fun to watch people blow up and then turn into smoke? I myself think this is how most R rated Sci-Fi movies should do it.

D-9 did not disappoint. Totally set up to be made into a three faction FPS!

My only issue was the craggy aliens had super smooth tech. I was expecting something more organic. Like the Buckaroo Banzai aliens from the 54th dimension.

The irony is that most of them were too stupid to operate it. Out of the original 1 million Prawns, only 1 of them knew how to get their transport operational again.
