Tf2 idle program

And another thing:
I'm European.. when I sleep, and therefore idle - the servers are full. Because it's the middle of the day in the US (imo) and all the servers are full. Would I rather idle with the program or seed for seven seconds before being shown the door from one of our very much full servers? :)

Same sorta thing happened to me last night. I went to bed around 12AM, was in the server seeding (Payload). I was hoping to not get kicked knowing that the server numbers would soon dwindle. I wake up this morning... what do you know. Empty server, and I got kicked...

You have to wait probably until 2 or 2:30 est before the servers empty out. Then you could seed, unless if you are seeing the server dieing already then just go ahead and seed at whatever time it is.

The reason I don't do this is because I'm kicked when it fills. I don't want to be gone for 8 hours and return finding myself kicked 15 minutes after I started spectating.

Also, guys, Valve SPECIFICALLY said they are putting in a system that allows "you to work towards specific items". Good things have yet to come, don't worry. Their secret pages also hinted that there will be odd ways to work towards finding hats, specifically ones someone else is wearing.
 
Just want to say that I got my second hat on my first night of idling. It was the engineers cap and I only one hour of engineer playtime. Feel free to hate me.

I just need an idea first...one that I'll use for a long time.

They also said they'd include a trading system before the next major update, but I don't see one. I also see Gabe telling people that there's going to be no use for duplicate weapons any time soon, so why trade if you can't trade up?

The callback error can safely be ignored. It does not in any way affect your ability or chances to receive an item. Unknown callback messages just means the program received a message from Steam that it doesn't care about.

6. Will this program delete my older duplicate weapons if I have the option enabled?
No. The program only checks new items received to see if they are duplicates. If the option to delete duplicates is enabled, any new duplicate items you receive that are not hats will be deleted.

7. How do I exit the program?
Focus on the idler program and press any key.

8. I get the error message "Failed to create pipe."
Make sure that you are signed into steam friends and not set to offline.

9. What class does all my idle time go to?
This program simulates you sitting in spectator mode. It does not add time to any specific class, only your overall time in-game on your community page.

10. Do I have to worry about my account being stolen?
No. This program neither checks nor transmits any login information.

11. Do I need to have TF2 installed to use the idler?
No. You do not need TF2 installed for the idler to work. You do have to own TF2 though.

12. I've been running the idler for a long time and haven't got any new items. What's wrong?
On average, you'll get one item every 100 minutes. You will not get any items if you are not signed in to Steam friends. You cannot be in offline mode or appearing to be offline. If you feel you've gone an unusualy long time with no new item, you can try restarting the idle program or both Steam and the idle program.

Valve never said this on their blog posts. It might be hidden in their forum posts, but what I quoted was specifically stated in one of their blog posts. Besides, why would they implement all these random drops, hats, and levels (as well as the code for stat changes) if they're not going to do stuff with them? Something good will happen in the near future (Valve time). Right now most of the stuff is just a placeholder; Valve knows we hate it.

If you START TF2 with the idler going, the Idler will cough up unhandled exceptions every time you do anything in the menu (like click on a link), but the real problem comes when you join a server. it IS possible to get VAC banned, although it probably won't be instant, or 100% likely. I believe a majority of the time it disconnects the idler with a "Steam ticket" error, or some similar error, but I don't remember trying this. The Idler isn't connecting to a VAC server, but I'm not sure if VAC secured servers can tell if you're also connected somewhere else.

Basically; I wouldn't recommend it. Always make sure you close the idler before playing.

I was one of the first ones in my area to pre-order the Orange Box. I should have been first in line for a hat.
 
Don't take a chance running the idler and TF2 together. I'm pretty sure you will be banned.
