Are valve ever going to update css?Because i find the fact that when you are on cs_office and you are in projector room the hostages just stand still whilst bullets are zooming past there heads and grenades exploding like 3 ft away.A good idea i thought of was to have the hostages gagged and sat down with there hands tied up behind there backs.Then instead of just "using"them you hold down your use button to cut the rope with your knife and un-gag him, Then they make there own way to the hostage rescue zone.With the ct's protecting them.At this point the T's have to KILL the hostages without the loss of money.(whilst killing them before getting untied results in loss of cash)
valve also said they were making steam achievements for css.
Anyway if any other people have good ideas Please post below and have fun fragging!

This is an old game and that would take a major update. People like the older feel of it.
 
i think valve is abadoning css because i think they r working on cs2, and i think they will move over the old source engine and make a new one, if you've seen the interview with gabe newell you'll know what i mean, he mension that if they'll make one they have to start from scratch.
 
Its true, if such a thing was gonna happen, it would of been done a long time ago.

right, and from a business stand point they will not provide a huge free update for a game everybody already owns, they would just rerelease the game with these updates...or have a CSS2 type of situation that has these updates so that you are forced to purchase the game again, or a new version of it....why would they waste the opportunity to make more millions of dollars?? they wouldn't, and won't.
and i personally believe there will be a counter-strike 2 type of scenario because there is no reason why they wouldn't at least TRY to cash in on the popularity of counter-strike once again.
 
Yea as junk said they are going to cash in on CS:S's success i mean look at Infinity-Ward with Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. The original game still has about 100K online players, but they are making a new one. Plus if they made a new CS it wouldn't be a source based game, i would at least hope it would have graphics that could rival other FPS on other platforms.
 
Yea ur right.Its like l4d 2.Valve woudn't miss an opportunity to make millions and to boost the gamers on steam.

They'll make a new one, from a financial and a business perspective it'd be stupid to not make a new one. Their advertising for a new one is practically free because of 1.6 and Source. They'd just make a Steam Store front page type of thing saying Counter Strike XXXXX Now released $49.99. There will be a new counter strike i don't know if it will just be a new engine or completely redesigned so its more realistic like COD

Valve Talks Counter-Strike 2 Potential

The topic of a full Counter-Strike sequel has been cautiously broached by Valve during a series of interviews with GameTrailers TV.

"We will never abandon Counter-Strike," asserted Valve director of marketing Doug Lombardi, who went on to explain why the game hasn't received a major update since the release of Counter-Strike Source in 2004.

"It's a little bit unfair to compare Counter-Strike, I think, to your classic game that's gonna have these sequels. It looks a little bit more like an MMO where it's constantly [being updated]."

Of course, even the most successful MMOs get sequels eventually, and it appears that Valve is at least tentatively working out the details of a Counter-Strike refresh.

"With Counter-Strike 2, there's a big question between, do we go start over from scratch and build this whole new game, do we do something that looks more like Team Fortress 2 that is rooted in the old game but has a ton of new stuff, or do we just sort of take everything that's new that we've released and put that out in a new box," remarked Lombardi.

"I think we're leaning more towards the two more radical places than just sort of rolling up the new box and reskinning the box and putting out all the new stuff."

But will the game truly go the way of Team Fortress and end up in the new "cartoon shooter" genre?

"Oh I doubt that," Lombardi said, laughing.

"I just don't think that [Counter-Strike 2] would be a good fit [with Half-Life Episode 3]," added Valve co-founder Gabe Newell, noting that the potential game would be a stand-alone product in his eyes.

Newell closed with a dangerous challenge: "But if I get 15,000 emails from customers in response to this interview telling me 'Of course it should be in [the next Orange Box],' then of course we'll pay attention to that."

They Valve update yes of course they can will they no. They are more into Team Fortress 2, Left 4 Dead 2. They know that is where the demand is at and will continue to support those two games until there is no longer demand for it. Yes there is demand for new updates for Counter Strike Source, but not as much as for TF2, and upcoming L4D2. If and when Valve decides to bring out CS 2 they can charge anything they want for it and people will pay for it. Heck Valve can make CS 2 for free and give away $1,000 to each person and people will still complain. The point is yes it sucks Valve no longer supports CSS.

I don't think that Valve is ever going to do any updates on their older games. They're not Blizzard like that :P

Who me?I worked at Valve for like 3 hours then stopped cause it was boring.They had like 550 things to do but all were to complicated and got bored of reading tut's.lol
 
the hostages are just frozen with shock and cant move because theyre worried they will crap their pants because of all the violence and action happening around them.

Also when CS2 comes out if it ever does im guessing it will be another game on this clan too right?
