First day of College, what about you?

my first day of college last year was alright, i hated all the orientation crap they put you through to meet people. Im kinda ready for this year to start only cuz im really looking forward to the robotics class im taking.

Im currently a sophmore Technology Education major at California University of Pennsylvania.

I didn't go to orientation. Although, I'm only going to a community college, and not a 4-year university.
 
I had my first day yesterday, it was awesome.
3 of my classes are simulation & game development, a class full of gamers with a gamer teacher, its some of the most fun ive had in awhile.

I need 3 books, but they cover essentially all of my classes so win win.
 
I need 5 books. Math, Psych, Anthropology (x2) and speech. Total was just under $500 (I was fortunate to snag some used books)
 
My first day was orientation last year. It was interesting, meeting everyone and trying to get settled in. I was scared at first, since I was truly away from my parents for the first time, but it turned out fine. I definitely enjoy the freedom.

I'm working on an AA in psych. I'm going full time, so no work yet. Hopefully next semester I'll be able to juggle both work and school.

Holy crap! No way! That's awesome!

I'm still new to everything so I don't know what/where campus M-R is.
We'd have to compare schedules. But that's totally awesome, a fellow eGO who goes to the same school as me.

That's a good plan, I don't know whether I'll do a year here or two, but it's going to be PPCC>UCD orrrrrrr if UCD doesn't offer what I'm looking for, the art institute.

Are you at the Centennial campus? M-R is Monday through Thursday. =p If you're at the Cen Campus, I have an hour from noon-1pm Monday through Thursday.

I have a friend who went to the art institute. I don't know anything about UCD. I just know that CU Boulder has an awesome psychology program, and with something like mental health care you want a big college under your belt, that way people will easily recognize it.

I'm on the Centennial campus on Monday/Wednesday from Noon to one, Tuesday 1 to 2:15 and Friday from 9 am to 1:20.
 
I'm not going to lie, I had to chuckle at the first mention of a $100 textbook; I'm a sophomore mechanical engineering student at the University of Pittsburgh and took a $500+ hit my first semester, a few hundred the second, and $350 for this semester. The only good thing is that a lot of my classes (particularly the Calculus I-II-III sequence) use the same book. Math books are incredibly expensive though, I will agree ($200+ new! Never buy new if you can avoid it!). Anything science- or math-related is likely going to cost you a lot for the books.

First day last year...I only had a few classes and didn't really know anybody in any of them, so it was very awkward. I was done at 3PM and headed off to the golf course to play a round with my brothers :) (I'm a commuting student, and work at a course where employees can play on Mondays for free).
 
Good god jeod O: I would have become the Juggernaut and destroyed the bookstore for paying that much.
I haven't bought my english textbooks (I need two apparently) yet, so I don't know how much it'll add up, but so far none of my art classes require books, but want me to buy supplies XD, so I'm probably looking around over $300+ now.

Tuesday would seem like the best day then.

My first class is 10-11:15 and my next one is 1-2:15 like yourself. Maybe we can meet up just before class next Tuesday.
