Big problem with some skins.

hey guys. i know its not the best place to ask i need to do it in tech help but i think you guys are better to help me.

today i was tried to a thompson skin. i was deleting everything i know is was stupid but i was doing the same as i doing with all skins i want to change. i delete all the files with the name thompson.

and now when i'm assault on the allied side i can only see my crosshair the weapon is gone when i shoot i can see the fire but not the weapon. if someone will help me i will strong appreciate that!

i think i have fixed it i was deleting steam on my computer and is delete all skins i've had added so i hope it will help..

If you want to start off with all your DODS skins, deleat the "Day of Defeat: Source" folder NOT the "dod" one, When you delete it, the next time you start Day of Defeat: Source, it should launch all of the original skins* Now, when you start with the skins DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT delete the files of the skin you want to replace, all you need to do, is place the skin folders where it tells you, and it should ask you to overwrite, when it does, Click "Yes to all" This will delete the necessary folders for you and replace them.

The Problem with delete all the files named "Thompson" is that...Let me start out from the beginning, I will use the word "Home" for the files on your computer, and "Foreign" for the files you are downloading from the website.

There are three types of files for a gun skin, Models, Materials, and Sounds (MMS), these are the root files. Doesn't matter what it means, they are called that. While your Home default skins have all three, the skin your downloading from the website might not, so if you go deleting all the files, then if the Foreign skin has only Models and Materials, then it will have no sound, because you deleted the sound, so you will only see the gun, but not hear anything. Same goes if you delete any other folder. So DO NOT delete any of your folders, the Skins will replace the ones that it has, so you get no errors.

If I need to clear anything up just ask.
