the acient mayan, roman and chinese oracles and the modern web bot predicted that 2012 will be the end of human race. Anyway i think the haley comet is gonna go of orbit and hit earth, what do you think?

No one with a brain in their head believes this.

I used to feel like it had a little bit more sense to it than other "doomsday" predictions, but having done a fair bit of research on it - I can honestly say I feel there is no realistic sense in believing it.

I've got a brother who'd head over heels for this stuff, conspiracies and especially the 2012 doomsday theories. But I can't say I share his enthusiasm.

While I do think that during my lifetime, something...big, may very well happen. I do not believe it to be any of the 2012 predictions.
 
No its not the end of the human race but, in 2012 Dec, 21 or something the Earth's rotation is gonna move about 2inches and kill alot of people. And if you think this isnt true back in Geroge Washington times same thing happened many people died around 2m-1b I dont really know -.-.
The thing is that when the Earth moves 2 inches the climate changes suddenly. People cant grow crops, and also the economy sucks and its gonna get worse because crops are gonna be scarce cause of the climate changes. Sooo it will kill alot of people but im not sure its the end of the human race.

There is no scientific evidence of this.

Well, let me rephrase that.

There is a massive amount of scientific evidence for the Earth moving. There is no evidence to support your claim that many people will die because of it.

We've known for a very long time that the Earth moves. The Earth moves a lot. ALL THE WAY AROUND THE SUN, actually. Every year. And it is at various distances from the Sun, at various times in the year. Also, we know and have known for a very long time that the Earth rotates. A lot more than 2 inches a year.

Put it this way, There is a big pice of space junk out there somewere with our name on it. It will hit us today or 1000 years from now we just don't know.
 
i think something will happen but it wont be the "end" of mankind because if something does return, well, we lived through it last time.
 
People have been predicting things like this throughout the ages. "Oh, the world will end on this date!" Date passes, world's still here. "Oh, this next date!" Date passes, we're still here.

I'm not too inclined to think this one's any different.

I definitely don't believe this stuff... and I swear there was a thread on this already.
Why get yourself tied up in thoughts like this when you could simply just ... live your life?

It's not worth loosing your sleep over, if something like that has to happen, it will simply happen, no matter what you or me or anybody else thinks/does.

So my advice is, don't stress yourself over something like this, just live your life to the fullest and enjoy it on a day to day basis.
 
didnt we already have a thread like this?

the only thing that is going to happen is crazy people will act nuts then realize its all nothing. people will make a million movies based on 2012 mayan calendar, all of them will suck. people will try to cash in on all the hype, then make a bunch of money on the fear.
 
ok, look guys, the full truth of it is we are going to enter a brand new era on the date. we will be entering the era of Capricorn, this is something that only happens every 4000-5000 years, and the Mayan calender only counts up to that point.

Theory stats that this could be a new golden age for us here at earth, but it is natural human nature to fear the unknown, so someone thought "OH NOES1!!11!! iT's TeH EnD Of EvEryThIng11!!1" and naturally, in classic human nature, one person panics and we all follow suit.

so in all actuality? NO! life on earth will not end, we will just be entering into a new era, and we could see life on earth get all that much stronger! stop panicing those of you that believe this, we are safe and sound here on earth.

also, about the earth moving 2 inches and killing millions of people....are you serious? the earth moves more then that on a yearly basis, i don't see millions dead anywhere?

but regardless guys, all fears are unproven, see you all in January 2013 ;)

hey if it happens, it happens. I dont believe it will. I, occassionally, never believe what all these scientists come up with, including evolution. I am a religious man and I believe the Apocalypse/Armageddon may occur, but not as soon as this. Probably in our great-great-grandchildren's era

The calendar only goes up to this date and then it ends. NOWHERE does it say the world will end.

If it is a start of a new era, it needs to be the era of FLYING CARS!!
