Who plays Empire:Total War?

I've seen the game, looks so bad ass. Is it worth the money, i don't want to pay 50 bucks when i can pay 30 on amazon for a used one.

Inless you buy retail, does it have a retail? I should be picking it up soon anyway.

Yeah, I'm almost positive there's a retail version, which may or may not require Steam activation, but probably not (it isn't a Valve game after all).

Actually, yes it does require a Steam activation. I bought my copy at Best Buy (got the USS Constitution for doing it) but I still had to activate mine via Steam after installing it.

I wasn't too happy about that at first. The automatic patching is kind of nice, but if I ever move and don't have internet access for awhile I'm pretty much unable to play.

I highly reccommend getting ETW. A lot of people have it and play it. Have you ever looked at World in Conflict. If your not feeling the need to spend 50 bucks this is 20 bucks on steam with the expansion. Their is a learning curve though for multiplayer as most of the people playing have been playing since launch so be prepared to be owned the first couple of weeks.

get it, it is a great game however dont play it for a long time straight it will get boring (i played it for 75 hours in a two week span then had to stop playing for a bit)

you can always use steam in off-line mod that's what I do on the road

but Zeus you should play the demo before you buy, Total war games are different then any other RTS out there.

Wow, this is wierd. I just got it today and Im waiting for the patches to install when I saw this. Nice timing. Hope its as good as Medieval 2 was.
