Common sense or hilariously effective strategy?

I find it quite amusing that, while being engineer, if you run toward the enemy and then proceed to retreat as if you have been startled into retreating by the presence of the enemy, they will follow you to their untimely death as you round the corner and they follow you into an awaiting sentry gun. Does anyone else use this strategy?

What is even better is I rush at them with this intent and I accidently kill them with my Shotgun/Pistol before my sentry gets to play with them =(

I use it all the time as a medic. I call it Bating.

Personally, I call it baiting, but that's just me ;)

Yeah, this is a fun tactic, although I found myself expecting it most of the time. There are still times when I want my revenge SO BAD, I chase the engineer right into his sentry.

I do when I'm engineer on stage one of Egypt on defense. On the final point, build near the tunnel entrance from your spawn. Go into the tunnel, and fish out a clueless pyro. He'll W+M1 his way to your sentry AND BAM. You can laugh while you dance next to your dispenser.

you don't have to be an engi to use this trick...and yes it is fun :)

And you must always taunt while sitting next to/on top of your sentry.

Always.

You can do that with anything, even soldier. Sometimes i lure pyros somewhere i can kill them and then laugh.

Uh, isn't that one of those general tf2 rules. Dont follow a engi, your going to run into his SG eventually.

i usually wonder around corners with caution. i'll stay focused on my prey (assuming they making it around the corner) and if i pop around and i hear that double beep, i just use the very simple evasive maneuver. it's called the step back behind the corner trick... fools the sentries every time.

I refuse to believe this. Where's your proof, maggot? I'm going to try this out myself and prove to you that this is absolute crazy talk.

I mean, seriously.

That requires using a button other than W!

well if you dont want to use the multiple key hack, you can just use the turn 180 degree's using your mouse method as well. Both are very effective.
