Stats are too hard to read

The new stats page is too hard to read imo. Black text on a dark blue backround really hurts my eyes. A few days ago there was a brief change where the background was bright, like a bright tan or something, and that was much better to read. Just my 2 cents

I can read it fine, but i do agree that the colour scheme should be changed, the text needs to contrast more.

Can we give them time to fix the actual stats and ensure those are working properly as opposed to complaining about how they are presented to us? Just my two cents. The page itself looks ok and is readable.

It is the dark blue areas that are hard for me to read too. For example it is hard to read Statistics Summary in the top left corner. You could adjust your brightness controls in your monitor or video card. That might help. Good luck.

Agreed. And since when its offering a suggestion complaining. Sheesh.

Goto the chat history page, now come on that's definitely hard to read. If the text was changed to white instead of black that'd be a huge improvement imo. If black text on a dark background is easy to read, then why not use it for the forums or the whole site? I don't think many ppl would choose that over how it is now. So all I'm suggesting is a text color change to something much brighter for better contrast, like how it is here.

i totally agree ... there was that couple of days where stats seemed to be working quite nicely on the tan interface and was easily readable ... now we are back to highlighting and the tough bluish on bluish ;o

i agree a different font color would help but i also agree give them some time and it should be perfected in a couple weeks

It is good that you don't want to be offensive. Kudos (except for the spelling bit).

Different people have different abilities to perceive color. What stands out to some is hidden for others. Everyone over thirty (and quite a few under) should get their eyes checked on a regular basis. Still, here is a news flash: Glasses and contacts will not correct color vision perception.

Personally, highlighting things in red for me is a waste of time. It blends in with the other text. A draftsman once gave me a drawing to look over and told me the changes were in red. "Thank's Charley. Which are the red ones?"

Generally things with high contrast, light against dark or dark against light are easiest to see for the majority of the population. I'm always annoyed when web designers and powerpoint creators go for pretty and forget the scope of their intended audience. In some cases I have had to copy the page and read the plain text.

Highlighting the offending text sometimes gives enough contrast to help.

By the way, traffic lights: Red is on top. If the green and yellow aren't lit I assume the red is. Funny thing. At night I can see the red just fine. From a distance the green lights are the same color as streetlights. Hey look that streetlight turned yellow. Hmmm.

Beast (one of our tech advisors for artistic stuff) is aware of the issues and is going to be updating the stylesheets to fix some of the problems. There are some very low contrast color schemes in place now, and we know that its a problem.
