Does the PS3 HDD have your downloaded games on it?

I'm just wondering because I might have to get a new PS3, but I want to take my HDD out of my old one and put it into the new one. I don't really want to DL all my games over, plus I have games that friends gave me. Also, do PS3 slims use the same HDD type as all other PS3s? If I get a new PS3, and put my HDD from the old one into the new one, will it be the exact same thing as with my old one, except with a new PS3?

Yes your saved games and downloaded games are on the Hard Drive.

Apparently you can't just transfer your old hard drive over and access all your files. You'll have to back them up. Sorry.

yea ofc everything goes into the hdd exept the player profile i think, so yeah.
