Issue:
I had recently been having problems with my computer over heating. I would play a game for a while and it would shut down. I fixed this issue by installing the latest NVidia drivers for my 9600gt cards in SLI. I opened the case to make sure all of my fans were working properly as a precautionary measure, which they were, and i turned my fan speeds on my V8 heat sink and my Apevia 680w iceberg PSU.
I than noticed that in my MSI Dual Core Center while playing a game my FSB speeds would jump to excessive speeds, faster than my P6n MSI motherboard will support (800MHz, 1066MHz standard, 1333MHz O.C.). The FSB speeds were going to extreme jumps, the largest i saw was a 1400MHz. I went into my BIOS and set the clock speeds from automatic to manual at 1333MHz to see if that would help stop the issue. Instead, the issue persisted. Any ideas? Because I am all out of them.
Computer Specs:
Coolermaster HAF932 E-ATX Case
MSI P6N Diamond Motherboard (680i chip set)
Intel e8400 Core 2 Processor (3.0GHz)
Coolermaster v8 heat sink
EVGA 9600GT Superclocked (2x SLI, OC'd 750MHz Core, 1000MHz memory)
4GB Corsair XMS2 800MHz DDR2 RAM
Apevia Iceberg 680w PSU
