Do you think it is a good idea for valve to give us 1 free hat and or item on our birthdays?

This question came up in ventrilo tonight and i was woundering what you guys thought please give us your vote and reasons why or why not this is good or bad

Easily fixed.
For example, they could fix it by only allowing you to get one 'birthday' hat per year. There, I fix'd it. Yay!

Are we thinking purely just hats or maybe a misc. item? I guess that will only work once they release more items for that slot but I guess the hats are slot more obvious. Either way I think that this is a great idea.

Yes, but rather than on your birthday, do it on the day you made your steam account. Like the way we get year ribbons on this forum.

i dont personaly think the birthday thing would be abused and im fairly sure you out your birthday into steam so it knows your age so u can only buy serten games so how could u abuse this even if you said you where older and on some random date because its only once a year

Your b day input is not stored on steam account / ids . To view the M rated games you put in a Birthday; however, it simply saves temporary cookies / cached data. Steam account doesn't keep that info.

I don't thin they would do it. Also people could just put their b-day the day after so they would get a hat the next day.

Stop complaining and drop the hat subject the hat drop rate was significantly made higher. You will get a hat.

im sure they could set up a tf2 website bases thing that u can imput your birthday and u get one on the date you imput even if u do the day after its only once a year so therefor can not be abused
