Not Planned Remove JB map obama

Title pretty much says it all. It's basically a troll map with only 3 games (2 of which are climb) being player regularly and no real good secrets to rebel with other than a simple TP. From what I've heard within the JB community it's like a 90% to 10% ratio of people disliking and liking the map, while most players that like the map are trolling and like it cuz of the name.

I think that removing the map will leave more space for maps that are actually fun and well made.

TLDR: No one likes JB obama map.

(Or remove it untill it would get a rework if that's even possible)

I agree with this. Obama is a terrible map with 2 playable games - both of which are climb.
 
Couldn't agree more pls remove
(We will never be able to rework this map) and it's honestly easier to just make a new one because of how much we would change

I think a better suggestion would be to increase the map cool down. I find that there's a particular rhythm with JB maps and increasing the cooldown would throw a wrench in that, figuratively speaking.
 
Huge -1 from me, keep Obama forever the map is so bad but so fun (I think it's fun on both CT and T)

kuantum kuantum the issue mainly atm is server crashes resetting the map cooldown, and the server crashes pretty often lately. This causes the same few maps to be played very excessively and to be frank, it kind of sucks. Best solution in my opinion is if there were a way to keep maps on cooldown even if server crashes, or figure out how to stop the crashing I suppose lol

I can write a 75 page thesis paper on why the map jb_obama is trash. I am probably the loudest person on the server telling people to vote for anything else but jb_obama. The issue is that this map is a certified classic. Players vote for and play maps that they are familiar with and the server numbers don't lie whenever jb_obama is on.

The majority of regular Jailbreak players don't read/participate in these forums.

I am all for getting a proper make-over of the map but the issue with that is that the original creator of the map explicitly stated that he does not want anyone messing with it. Someone get me into contact with the original creator and I can negotiate a price for the "rights" to edit and use his map.

It’s not that I don’t like the map, but oh my god, CTs need to choose different games. Always feels like we switch between climb and some other game. Every. Single. Round. There’s so many games we could play. Maybe except for Jump Rope, I don't think I’ve seen anyone survive that after it’s been turned off.

I understand what you are saying but I don't think that "oh the map is a classic" is a good reason to keep it. A lot of things have changed and with time that means some other things have to change as well or be removed... The map is outdated and it shows in the games you play on the map.
 
Being someone who doesn't really like playing obama that much, people on the server do still vote for it so I don't think it should be removed. If people are still nominating and voting for the map, then people still want to play it. I do agree the map does not have many games and is more of a "rebel" map. I do think mouse's map is to get the same "feel" as obama but of course add more games to it. However, his map does play completely different so I don't feel like it should replace obama when it comes out. I think as long as players continue to vote for it, there isn't really a point to get rid of it.

I mean like i said in my post, it's only nominated and voted on for the name or to troll. I think 5% off the people voting it are actually enjoying the map

I can actually vouch for a good amount of people that enjoy playing the map (although the only reason is because they know a lot of secrets and its easy to rebel for them).

I honestly think it's not the best thing to assume why people vote for it. The most simple way to look at it (in my opinion) is that they vote for it because they want to. I think you may have the 2 confused, and the trolls are actually the 5%, and the rest just simply wana play obama (that's why I vote for it, if there's not a map in pool that I'd rather play)
