I installed windows 7 today and it is amazing.

If you have windows vista like i did, do whatever you can to get a copy of 7, it is shiny, runs better than XP, and could possibly dispense cookies and milk.

Sadly, I installed Vista a while back. I'm going to get Windows 7 soon, and HOPEFULLY it won't be as suckish as Vista. Sometimes I feel like I'd do anything just to get XP back.

Did it not recognize you graphics card too?
I managed to find a fix for it if anybody needs it.

This one? The one where technology makes sense.


Vista accesses RAM, CPU cores, and just about everything else in your PC much better than XP.


The reason people complain about it is because they have absolutely no clue what they're doing. People ran Vista on sub-par PCs and kept all the aero and graphically intensive things running.

If you want to complain about UAC, you can turn it off. I wouldn't suggest it (saved me from a virus once), but you can.

well, it really doesn't dispense cookies and milk, but its reliable enough that I was actually able to get them during its startup in place of vista trying to do a disk check.

Just kidding! I <3 Win 7 too, I've been using the Win 7 release client for a while now, and was using the Beta version before that. It's just better than Vista in every way, looking forward to the hooplah when the non-techno nerds learn Win 7 is being released soon ~

To be honest, at this point, people that complain about Vista don't really know what they are talking about. Windows 7 is Vista with lipstick. It doesn't use as much RAM as Vista, but that's because Vista caches. It lets go of the cache if you need RAM for something else.
