question about a 9600gt card.

9600 will be a fine card for this game depending if your cpu is going to bottleneck you or not. i have an 8600 gt (basically the same as the 9600) and i play this thing at 1680x1050 everything full, no AA/AF full server for 100+ fps. i have overclocked my card a little tho, but you'll still be able to play it fine

the 9500gt is acualy as faster than the 8600gt just FYI. here is cod4 benchmarks for the 8600,9500 and the 9600gt:

now back to my main question (the reason I stated this thread) looking at the card specs I saw some other fishy things like the core processor speed is acualy the speed as the 9400gt same as the memory speed so I will probly not buy that card of ebay. and looking on newegg I cannot find a psu(that has anuf watts and amps fo a 9600gt ) and a 9600gt with in my price range so I will probly just get a 9500gt like I was going to origanaly before I saw that ebay "deal".
well thank you guys for all you help:)

hmmm i never really thought about the huge performance difference between latop gpu's and dekstop gpu's but ur right....they really do perform a lot worse

You wont get very good framerate with a 9600gt, especially when you bump up the settings and resolution.
I have a 9600gt in my macbook pro and it gets decent frams on L4D but the resolution is low and the settings are medium or less.

yes but the 9600m GT (the one in the macbook pro) is based on the same architecture as the desktop 9500gt, and thus preforms as such (really bad)

the 9600 GT will give you Approximately 70fps in source games (high, maybe some AA and stuff turned down) and should preform well in COD (40-50 FPS mix of med. and high)

just my thoughts (and experiences)

but that isn't my card, thats an 8600 gts 256 mb mine is a bfg geforce 8600 gt oc TI edition (thermointelligence) 512 mb...and i overclocked mine up to 701 core 1540 shade 826 memory and it performs better than the 9500, possibly even the 9600 gt...and it only cost me 40 bucks, woot

lol u should give us some number to work with, some benchmarks and stuff. Just a general reference like ur ~fps and stuff.

ahhh i see........i have everything maxed out in cs source and i get like 150+ fps......hmmm hopefully the next gen cards coming out soon will be beast, if they are, im upgrading to one of those high end ones.
