He did say that in his original post but then added a budget of 150 or less. You are always recommending the top of the line cards even on a budget lol. That being said either wait it out or pick up a regular 4870. Don't bother with the OC edition. Waste of money. Another thing to note is no matter what card you buy there will probably always be some sort of price drop after you buy it. Just the nature of PC stuff.

hahaha i think you all have it wrong........hes talking about euros im pretty sure. The 4890 he was going to get which he linked was like 140 euros or something.

Im not trying to recommend top of the line cards, its just that i think he said 150 euros and the site he showed said the 4890 was like 140 euros. So i figured y not just go for the 4890, the boost in performance over the 4870 is a lot. And when it gets overclocked the thing is like unstoppable.

i think its really good what about you guys? and if the 5800s have a 5870 around 180? ill get it but if not ill get this.

If 180 euros comes out to like 400 US dollars loopey, then yes you can get a 5870 but im pretty sure 180 euros isn't 400. The 5850 is 300 US dollars and the performance is expected to be almost the same as a GTX 295 so you should wait until the ATI 5800's come out, if you can't afford them, they will atleast drive the 4800's price down.

a single 4890 is better than a single 4870 but ofc the x2 will be better, but if you will do a crossfire in the future 2 4890 will preform better than 3 4870's and almost close to 4 of them, i've seen test and results but if u will not crossfire go ahead and take the 4870X2

thnx guys, its pounds ? buy the way not euros the 4890 i wanted to get is like 135? on its own, so if the 5870 will cost around 160? = 400$ i will buy it. I forgot that i have to do the currency ratio's so i thought it would be like 230? or something. I think i will wait, if the 5850's are more powerful then a 4890 i will just wait then get the even more powerfull 5870 for a little extra.

good choice......get the 5870 though, its supposed to outperform a GTX 295!!!! your budget will allow you to afford a 5870 and it comes out in about 4 days!!!!!
As for me, im gonna be waiting for the 5870x2!!!!!
