It's good. See it.

Well it's more than just that. Paranormal Activity is poised to be the most successful independent film of all time. The budget of the film is somewhere in the neighborhood of $15,000...and it uses it effectively. So far it's made $12.5 mi.

The scares are all great and the payoff is amazing. But what really got me was once the film started to get going it never stopped. There is a sense a crazy sense of dread over the last half-hour or so. This is easily one of best horror movies of the decade.

[9/10] (Sexy Beast Apporved)

I really really want to but its only in the major metro areas and i'd have to drive like 2 1/2 hrs to see it, how and where did you see, from what I understand or hve read, long lines?

Well I saw it at my local theater, but they sometime get limited releases. The line was kind of long...thanks to the hype machine. Though at the same time they had midnight showings for: Where the Wild Things Are, Law Abiding Citizen and A Serious Man...so that might have diffused the numbers going to see the movie.

I think the Paramount is starting a wider release for the film as Halloween gets closer.

I plan on seeing Paranormal Activity this evening. I'll post my review later.

if perhaps you are not a fan of horror but then again everyone is entitled to their own opinion, also hard to judge without having actually seen it

Yeah, I am now a bit horror fan guy. I seen commercial and everything about it. It looks good and everything. Did people scream thought out the whole movie?

Pretty much. The film set the right mood for people to scream at almost anything that happens.

Troll in 3...2...1...

Looks dumb...

The premise is a little on the dumb side and I can see why some people would see it that way...but it's not. The film is expertly crafted and the premise is presented in such a way that it comes off as almost believable.

Also, do not wait for a DVD release. This one is best seen in theaters.

I had really high hopes for this movie given the hype surrounding it, but I was very disappointed. I wish I waited to rent it. Unfortunately it's not a movie I would see again. I'm probably 1 out of 100 people who would agree.

You're not alone (at least you probably won't be). I really don't like horror movies and I'm being forced to go sometime soon. Maybe I'll like it, I don't know, but I'm skeptical.

Your right im not a horror movie fan. If I ever saw that movie I would just be constantly pointing out flaws in logic and other impossibilities. : / I'm just goofy like that.

i'm not reading anything but your initial post SB as i don't want to accidentally read any spoilers. but i will say i'm honestly surprised.
the movie looked like cheese to me...
and i had no intentions of seeing it....
but my wife watches that kinda crap on tv all the time... so if you're saying its actually pretty good, and scary/etc. then we might actually check it out.
thanks for the review SB

Yeah...this one requires a little bit of suspending your disbelief.

I've heard it's a realllllly scary horror film, and it sounds good and all but I've never been a fan of having the crap scared out of me x]

I'm not a horror fun but a few guys at work are, and they said they walked out it was so bad :shrugs:
