Being "mainstream" has been hurting gaming for a while now. Games like Red Orchestra have to be dumbed down just so they can sell well. If a company trys to make a different type of game they have to worry about not making any money. PC users seem to be the ones that want to play something else besides a run 'n' gun FPS that gets boring after 3 hours, but we are the minority.
 
Every franchise will die ... eventually(except maybe Micro$oft)... I hope there will be a game soon that will trounce CoD's sales sooner rather than later(BF:BC2 maybe?) and overtake their popularity. Either that, or I hope the PC version dies ... completely ... so they don't even make a PC port anymore =\ Sorry if that offends anyone, but I have a severe distaste for them.

As long as Valve does not back-stab their adoring community, I won't give a crap what any other company chooses to do with their games, but I don't like companies that do certain things to be successful, for long anyway. I support only a few companies Arena Net, Valve, BioWare, and Google, because they work real hard to make a game as best as it can possibly be(Not including Google), and do care for their communities.

I must admit, Valve hates PS3 :X We all know that ... But at least they don't hide it and are completely honest about why they hate it.

Anyways, just my opinion ...

Dont you think that 187,439 is still a large group to be loosing in terms of sales?

if pc gaming never became mainstream, would you not be able to argue that games have been water downed for it, because they would have never been made if the money was not there.

Me too.

As much as the lack of dedicated servers, no lean, no mods, 9v9 max, matchmaking, and the overwhelmingly likely scenario where we have to pay for new maps bugs me, I'll still be standing outside ebgames at midnight on Monday to get my copy.

Not even worth it to buy the PC version anymore just get the 360 version. Live matchmaking is gonna be a lot better then w/e they do...
 
Yes, it looks a little bit boring. However, I do like the BF series a lot and for sure, I am DEFINITELY getting BF:BC2. Hopefully it'll be fun as BF2 and 1942. (off-topic lulz)
