I need help with something. This something is are you able to drown a fish under water?

please help :(

If there is no air getting into the tank then yes. And not drowned per se just suffocated. (ie Tank has closed top and there is no air being pumped in.)
 
fish breath with gills not lungs. i guess you could tape their gills shut but then you might as well just leave them out of water. why would you want to know about drowning a fish? is this a serious question?
 
of course you can. all living things need oxygen to live. they have to come up for a gasp of air. silly.
 
basically Oxygen is slightly dissovled in the water and the fish take that in and now and then they surface to get more... and as said just like us if we have no oxygen we cannot live...for long
 
But the question was can a fish drown, and technically I would say that the answer is no. Drowning is death caused by a liquid entering the lungs, and since fish have no lungs, they therefor cannot drown. They can suffocate while underwater though.
 
If you can classify dry drowning as drowning yes otherwise Wha?!
