Doing a study for my statistics class, need 100 responses!

I usually just keep piling the spicy in until it's gone, then if it was Habanero or Naga Jolokia I would be downing milk like crazy.

On a scientific stand point none of the options you listed, with the exception of milk, wouldn't have any real effect on the amount of capsaicin or other capsaicinoid in your mouth. Like oil, capsaicin is a hydrophobic substance. In other words water won't do anything, the capsaicin will remain in your mouth.

Milk has a phosphoprotein called Casein which accounts for nearly 80% of the proteins found in cows milk. Casein has a detergent effect on capsaicin and other capsaicinoids, which is why milk is one of the best ways to "kill the flame."

Uhm ya.. ya... what he said.. yahh

This is a secret, don't tell anyone, but I use a spoonful of granulated sugar. Works like a charm.

Milk is the best because it coats your tongue, but it tastes horrible with spicy foods.

I do what is worst. Water and/or deep oral inhalation. It gives momentary relief, but also spreads the "spicyness" around.

OR JUST DEAL WITH IT!!!

None, if you drink something your mouth will even burn more, so i drink nothing and after a while my tongue is "burned" and then i start drinking beer ;)

Mostly when I'm eating I am drinking Milk, so milk.

Milk4Life.
