Well, every single class has been updated except for the Engie, and each and every single class has been getting a new unlockable except for the practical problem solving engie. So i would like to post my thoughts of what the new update (witch is going to be released around February at the rate they do updates) could contain and what i am expecting from it.

Lets begin. First on unlockables:
Secondary Weapon Slot: So i think that the next update will make the engiechoose to weather depent on his weapondry or to depend on his buildingsso i thnk that his pistol will be changed for a belt buckle that would makethe metal capasitye multiplied by to (that means that the total metal capasity would be 400 metal) but would kill the secondary weapon slot and would make the engie slower, witch is obviously not for the battle engie and would force the engie to stick to his buildings since he is a very easy target for spies.

Third Weapon Slot: In exchange for the wrench i would vote for a new drill. This would fix buildings 2 times faster and would use less metal (for example if a SG has half-life it will only need 20 metal instead of 40, remember this is just an example and this are not the real measures). The disadvantages are that this will not help buildings build faster and will not do any damage again making the engie depend on his buildings rather than his weapons.

Now the following are some new versions of buildings that would probaly won't be changed.
Sentry Gun: This would be changed for a pyrotecnic sentry that would work on tight maps and would burn twice as fast as the pyro and the fire has a more prologated time of action, meaning that a single large dinstance flame would take longer to be setted off eventually, and it would also produce a knockack that would prevent a direct contact from any enemy class except for the spy. But it all come with a price, this sentry has a very limited range and has 25% less health as well as a very limited sapper resistance. The upgrates would re-inforce fire rate as well as life

Dispencer: no change.

Teleporters: it would be changed for a new TP that would recharce almost emediatelly at level three (.05 secs between each teleport)
but would only have a very limited range, the maximum range is the same as the longitud of the Battlements of 2Fort.
This are my thoughts, if you have comentaries or other ideas pls post below and if you are good at artwork could you make a drawing or painting that would re-ensemle my ideas or the ideas of the others below me :confused1: :)
Thanks from a proud Engie, Plays2 have a nice Christmas and a Happy new year.

Good ideas, but we know it'll be Shotgun, Pistol, Wrench. Or a Shotgun and 2 Wrenches, or any combo like that. Anyways, the only slots on the Engi right now are Shotgun, Pistol, Wrench, and Head.

Not precisely true Ranthus. It is quite possible that the engineer could have a different kind of building added to his build menu. After all, the spy didn't get a knife or sapper replacement, the sniper didn't get a kukri replacement, and the demo didn't get a grenade launcher replacement.

I actually like your drill idea quite a lot Plays2. That would be a fair trade, with either having advantages for different situations.

I just think there should be an option to build 3 level 1 sentries, 2 level 2 sentries, or 1 level 3 sentry

Maybe one level 2 sentry and one level 1 sentry? Three sentries per engie might crash some servers :P

Engies should be able to build up to a level 6 sentry.

Level four, add a grenade launcher.

Level five, add a Natascha effect to the guns, without lowering damage.

Level six, add a flamethrower.

Of course, it'll cost more and more and more. each time to upgrade. Level four will require 400 metal. Level five, 800. Level six, 1600.

Yes, I'm a bit crazy right now.

THIS makes me think they already have plans for new Engie buildings.

I would like to see were did you CatKicka get that pic and what it means. :D

i like the idea of an airborn sentry that just can't be upgraded. its strength would be somewhere between a t1 and t2 sentry and it would travel a random path within a certain radius of where it was placed.

I kinda like the drill idea but instead of doing no damage, maybe give it an even smaller range than the wrench and make it wind up like the minigun before it does damage.

I choose not to read this. The spelling, grammar, and punctuation hurt my brain. Someone revise this plz.

No need to be rude Zero.

I really want them to add the ability to create wall-mounted sentries. Then laggy pyros won't be able to circle-strafe them. This would also create more reason to use all 3 big damage classes in an uber sentry assault.

I'm mexican what did you expect?

Found it on tf2wiki.net ... it's a fourth weapon-slot token, the first three being Primary, Secondary, and Melee. Here's a link. Too bad there's no info on it... yet!

TF2 Wiki's Crafting Page

Thanks, but the PDA2 slot is meant fot the watches and the destroy item things. Thanks either way :D

I have a few ideas for Engie update weapons.

A good pistol replacement would be a Rachet & Clank styled Mr.Zurkon unlock. A floating sentry that would attack enemies near the engineer. It wouldn't be able to do as much damage as, say, a level 1 sentry, but it would supplement the damage an engineer can do. The engineer is deceptively strong when it comes to battles, I've been able to solo Heavies before as an Engie.

For the shotgun I think a rivoter would be a nice replacement. It would be a high-powered weapon capable of damaging multiple targets with a single shot. Think about the railgun from the Quake series. Instead of doing 3x damage on critical hits the Rivoter would set enemies on fire. While equipped, the Engineer would move 20% slower making him about the same speed as the Soldier.

For buildibles I like the idea of making the engieer a bit more involved in the battle. I would love to see combat armor. The armor would take away the engineer's toolbox, making him unable to construct anything, but would allow him to reduce all bullet (shotguns and needles included) damage by 50%, all explosive damage by 70%, and flame damage by 60%. As well as making all melee hits against him non-critical. The more damage the armor takes the less effective it becomes, unless replinished by ammo crates or whacked by a fellow engineer. His main weakness would be his lack of firepower and eventual lack of armor if he stayed in a firefight for too long.

Another toolbox replacement would be a jumppack. This backpack would allow the engineer to jump long distances and to great heights but would take away his ability to build sentry guns. Making his main focus to prospect new lands for attack purposes! Just like his grandpappy did during the gold rush!

Those are just a few ideas, I'd love to see the jetpack idea, I think it would be awesome for payload or CP maps.

no no no.

the engie marries the scouts mom. (they have a nice gringo honeymoon in Mexico)

the spy, enraged by this act of betrayal by his former, uh, 'female friend', sets out to permanently destroy the engie.

the engie, in need of assistance, enlist the aid of one Saxton Hale (mann co.), and comes up with.... i dunno, awesome anti-spy stuff. c'mon, the guy just got back from his honeymoon, and now he sobers up and realizes he has to put up with the scout, the scout's mom, and the spy out for revenge...

my thought would maybe be a tool that would grant the NG some sort of protection while near his buildings like the demo shield, so he could hang in there and keep things repaired while under fire.

maybe a heavier armored but slower firing sentry as well

New build: The decoy. It explodes the moment a sapper is placed on it.

Engineers don't like spies. Did I mention that I have a B.S.M.E from the University of Michigan?

New build: The Armoured Personel Carrier. Takes 1000 pts of damage to destroy. Holds 4. Needs metal for fuel. Range eight medigun lengths before fuel exhausted. Same speed as heavy. Occupants may not shoot while aboard. Looks like a steam locomotive. Primary fire blows whistle. Secondary fire rings bell. Crushes enemy builds.

Level 2 2000 pts damage
Level 3 4000 pts damage

If were not a little mad and generally silly
I should give you my advice upon the subject, willy-nilly;
I should show you in a moment how to grapple with the question,
And you'd really be astonished at the force of my suggestion.
On the subject I shall write you a most valuable letter,
Full of excellent suggestions when I feel a little better,
But at present I'm afraid I am as mad as any hatter,
So I'll keep 'em to myself, for my opinion doesn't matter!

Nice ideas but, the last two would kill the whole point of being an engie, instead i would choose to be a heavy.

Anyway, valve has just posted on their blog saying that they are already on the works for the engie update. They also say that when the update is given out, all the people that lack an unlockale and that havent gotten any through cheating (i.e. using code and hack the system to give them a 85% like chance of getting an unlockale), will get them all for free, making the player to only look forward for getting duplicates and also to get the engie stuff.

What? Which blog are you reading, I read none of that.
