Should I get one for my computer?
I have stock air cooling right now, but I want aftermarket cooling.
I can pick it up from BestBuy for $60, but then I'd have to learn how to set it up and the push/pull or whatever you guys are talking about in the other threads.

So I guess what I'm asking is,
would it be a good investment for me? I could use it in the future as well as right now, but I have pretty good temps already.

Tl;dr-
Yes or no on the H50,
read my sig for my computer, but ask if you need more details.

Thanks in advance

For amd processors you need to order brackets from the corsair site and pay shipping

AMD AM2/AM3(Brackets for AMD socket AM2 and AM3 motherboards are available for a nominal shipping and handling charge by contacting Corsair Technical Support.)

just saying

funny that it says that, because it includes am2 brackets

Box of Bits
In the box there are brackets for Socket AM2+/AM3, LGA775 and LGA1366.

i think the corsair H50 comes with AMD brackets........i remember reading a review and it says that it comes with them

Do I need to get coolant or something for it?
How much would does it cost?

EDIT: And I'm buying from BestBuy, it comes with it
EDITED EDIT: It being the AMD mounting hardware.
EDITED EDITED EDIT: Uh, does that mounting hardware include the backplate thing? Or just screws or something? I've never had an aftermarket cooler before, in case you couldn't tell

no it comes filled up and ready to go, and it comes with the bracket unless its specifically newegg.com that doesn't include them (tho i dunno why that would be, older model probably). im sure you can order the brackets (all of them) from the site too, thats as a by need basis like if yours broke or needed replacement.
i remember reading a review stating that am2/3 bracket was not included yet, but it would be in later releases...so maybe thats why its cheaper because it is an earlier release without all of the benefits of current releases

Okay.
Could you show me a review of it?

its pretty easy to find them, you type corsair hydro h50 in google and get all the results. it would be faster for you to do that than me posting a bunch of links to actual reviews

this shows that it comes with AMD brackets as well as the Intel ones

Edit: Nvm i dont think it comes with the brackets........im really not sure now tho
http://techreport.com/articles.x/17481
"AMD-compatible brackets (shown on the left in the picture below) are sold separately and cost $3 online."

honestly tho....if its only $3, its not really a big deal but it is a bit of a hassle

EditEdit: AHHHH omg..........amazon says that it comes with the brackets and one of the reviews says that he uses an AMD phenom II so im guessing it did come with AMD brackets, maybe corsair updated the H50 to include the AMD brackets?!?!?

Lol but I'm lazy...
fine :glare:

Okay, thanks for the help guys.
Getting it on Tuesday.
I only need help setting it up in the push/pull configuration or whatever.

Contact me on XFire, I'll walk you through it; it's pretty simple.

its very very simple.........i can tell you right now

1. Unscrew Case Exhaust Fan and Take it out

2. Screw the Corsair Fan onto the Radiator like this (sry if my diagrams are gonna suck)

Outside case ---> Corsair Fan----> Radiator-----> Second Fan -----> Inside case

---------------------->
AIRFLOW
Edot: wow annoying, it won't let me make my diagram zzzzz ill just post a picture then....apparantly using spacebar here does nothing and it doens't look the way it should.

so basically this shows the corsair fan replacing the spot where your case fan was, then the radiator goes on top of that fan and this is all going towards the front of your case.......you want to make sure your fan is intake, basically is pushing air into the case and through the radiator.

3. If you want to add another fan which i recommend, you are going to need some long screws i believe which are not provided. Then you will attach this fan to the radiator and make sure its basically a pull so the fan blows in the same direction as the other corsair fan and you have consistent airflow. You don't want this fan to be blowing air into the radiator because it will disrupt the airflow since the other fan is also blowing into the radiator. You want this fan to blow away from the radiator taking the heat away.

4. You will wan to attach all the plugs now, fan plugs and such. This is easy, just match it up according to which PSU cable you need or put it in the correct motherboard header slot.

5. Turn on your computer and make sure its running........if it works, your all done. This is fairly simple because the Corsair H50 is maintenance free and its a simple install and run thing, no need to fidget with it after you get it up and running.

anymore questions i failed to answer, feel free to ask here

So you have yours in the push/pull?
Does it come with all of the required screws to do it?

lol LOOK AT MY HUGE POST!!! AND THE HUGE PICTURE!!! THATS PUSH/PULL!!!! and no it doesn't come with the required screws as i have said for the 2nd fan....only screws for the first fan

Ah. I know what it looks like, I googled it yesterday.
So I use the included screws on the pull fan, but how do I screw the push fan on?
Or where would I get these screws for it?

it is quite easy to find screws at hardware stores.
now just be aware the picture up there shows the other fan pushing into the radiator so the one connected to the case is probably pulling it through and pushing it out as exhaust, but you should set it up for intake. there have been reviews showing you don't even need the second fan if you have it set up for intake. so you probably don't even need to worry about a second pull fan and/or the screws to attach it.
i'll try to find the review, but it showed that as an intake (taking air from outside of the case and bringing it inside) there is no difference in temps from using 1 fan to using 2
