I think theres been 3 supposed doomsdays in my 20 years on this earth...I'm still here enough said

The day in question December 21st 2012 is just a winter solstice..Nothing new there happens every single year I think (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winter_solstice)

well the whole basis of the calender's ending is that on December 21st 2012 (the solstice) the sun will be exactly in the right position to block Earth from the center of our galaxy. Groups say that the center of our galaxy, the black hole, some how sends us life sustaining energies and that when the sun blocks the path of these energies all hell will break loose.

However NASA has determined that the true perfect line up between our sun, us, and the center of the galaxy occurred in 1989 and will not occur again for more that a million years. Life didn't end in 1989 so its not ending in 2012.

Anyway this is the Y2K bug on steroids and so I am not going to go build a bunker and stockpile batteries. I am a scientist and believe in science... not crackpot theories.

Anyway, I don't believe that something special will happen BUT global warming is rising, the icebergs are melting,the water is rising and we will soon have water shortage.Αll these are true facts that everybody know.If we continue to pollute our environment and destroy our great nature then nature will take revenge.And this will happen soon if we continue to pollute and destroy at this rate.We all need to think the results of our actions and take action.Our planet need us.We MUST take action not only for us, not only for our planet but also for our children who will pay for our own actions.That is what I wanted to say.And I don't believe that world destruction will come at 2012.

Reminds me of 10 years ago when people were panicking news years eve 1999, fearing that when the clock rolled over to midnight jan. 1st that computers were going to crash, world-wide chaos would ensue... meanwhile it had been jan 1 for like 16 hours on the other side of the world. hehe. like if the world's gonna end then it must be happening on pacific standard time.

or even better, that ridiculous theory about the end of the world being predicted by some computer program combing the web for random occurrences of certain words and phrases... just asinine.

If memory serves me correctly the ancestors of the Mayans have said this was BS.
Also, researchers who have devoted their entire life to studying the Mayan culture are pretty angry over the doomsday thing. They think it's terrible that everyone is caught up on the calendar and not widening their attention to rest of this interesting culture.

So no, the 2012 doomsday thing is not going to happen.
