If your lucky your processor will be a nice OC'er and you can keep your Vcore on your default. CPUS all have different VIDs (default vcore).
I love the q6600 for the fact that I kept my default voltage yet went from 2.4ghz to 3ghz, with stock cooler even. (g0 stepping ftw) Since I didn't have to change the voltages I pretty much kept the same temps.
I wouldn't recommend ocing on a stock cooler for many other cpus other than the known good overclockers, 920 etc.
Oc'ing on a 920 would be a somewhat bad idea also.....temperatures wise, it gets extremely hot on the stock cooler.
My G0 stepping got me to 3.83ghz before running into a temperature barrier. I backed it down to 3.6ghz 24/7 and got temps of 60C load. That system is gone now though, sold for $350 and upgraded to i7 920
only paid the difference of like $200 to get a i7 920 so i couldn't pass that up.
