The item drop system changed today. For starters:
Instead of getting an item every 30 minutes or so, it now roll on WHEN you get the next item. So it should fix those, like me, who go a while without getting a thing.
The rate has increased a lot
There's a max limit of play time. Playing an hour or for the whole day will get you items and so will those who play on and off.
Which means if anyone here idles, they'll end up getting fewer items than before.

I have 3420.9 Hours in TF2 total. 1000 of those hours were earned by actually playing (before hats). I think I know what I'm talking about when it comes to idling.
People cried about idling because it gave some sort of "unfair advantage". I'd like to see this advantage because last time I checked the weapon unlocks were sidegrades, not upgrades. And hats do not change any stats to a specific character.
I can see where Valve's coming from. Achievement_Idle was the most played map in the TF2 universe for a good 3 months. Thats something that no game developer would want to see. But to say that your drop (as a player) was earned and my drop (as an idler) is lesser of yours is a huge insult.
Whatever, haters gonna hate. I'll own 18 hats and I'm close to a 19th hat. I hope every hatless rager who reads my post sees me in game wearing a tower of hats and rage even more. Its funny to me
but....I did a handstand with no hands :crying:
edit: I only poke fun because idling or no idling, hats or pointless and only a

Yeah, same here, gg Valve!lol, now I won't have my massive dry streaks with no items
. I gave up on idling because I idled two days in a row non-stop and got... A (ONE, SINGULAR) Kritzkrieg.

And a hat yesterday during the day. =o
This is great, now people will have to EARN their stuff
