Announcement: Server Closings

[Duality]

Regretfully this post is to inform everyone that we've closed 3 of our Servers due to lack of players and poor rankings. We've shut down 2 US servers; our only chicago server, a dallas server, and the UK Hardcore Rush was also shut down.

I fought to keep the servers open that we have now but in a months time if the current roster of servers dont do better then there will be more closings. Take this as a wake up call, if we dont start filling them up, keeping teams even and making our servers stand out from the rest then you'll soon have fewer options to pick from. Start recruiting more often, I barely see anyone squad up with a pubber and talk them into joining up, afterall with more members it will be alot easier to keep these servers chugging along.

We will be starting a Recruiting Team for BC2, and there will be an announcement in the coming days so keep your eyes open for those details if you're interested.

So dont take this as a negative people, take it as a challenge. We need to step up and show the battlefield community exactly what eGO is all about. So stop reading this thread and go play!

Sadly EA doesn't help much at all with all the server crashes and issues.

As far as recruitment, it's true. I don't think I've seen anyone try to recruit in our servers. Myself included, then again I'm not a people person. Haven't had that added to my programming.

Hopefully EA will get their act together and servers will be more stable all around. Along with fixing chat and voice issues so communication is easier to conduct.

Yes voice chat is a huge obstacle for recruitment but theres always text chat and you can tell them about ventrilo. Your actions tend to get people's attention more often, I mean playing as a team and having fun is infectious, others will want to come back if its like that all the time.

As far as tech issues go the servers are very stable and dont crash any more often than our other servers. EA account servers are a different issue and affect all BC2 servers equally.

I'm sad to see the UK Hardcore server go, especially because it was the only euro server i had decent (<150) ping in.

I'm always ready to start up servers, and i'll start to recruit from all of our servers.

It's a shame, but at the same time it is a much needing wake up call. Unfortunately, I have not had the amount of free time that I wish to help out the servers. But when I do I will try my best to get things going.

Shutting down servers is unfortunate, someone will always be upset by their favorite map not being there.

But, if its not populated, no sense keeping it up :/

Its questionable. I think at the moment, MW is dominating the market, so less people are playing BC2.

i say having a aussie server would help! i havent been on ego servers much lately because of the bad lag i get on international servers. im trying to get a new system build so i hope that helps
