Less canvas, less open space![]()
Words of wisdom.
Also, bevel on small text generally either makes it difficult to read, or makes it look all lumpy, and a lack of contrast between the text and what it is placed on also leads to a lack of legibility (for example, the text on the purple sig, the gradient on the lower word makes it blend into the backdrop and reduces its visibility).
That said, I really like what you are doing with brushes in creating effects that interact with your characters.
As for your comment on my sig being kinda small, I personally like using smaller dimensions, and the text was meant to be the focal point. ;P My style is kind of Web 2.0 now (stressing simplicity and clean lines), since current trends are heavily in that style of design for professional work (I'm a Graphic Design major so I kind of need to keep up with trends), but several years ago, I used to make pics a lot like the ones you're making now when I was teaching myself how to use Photoshop. I've seen and made so many of them, though, that I'm a bit jaded on forum sigs. I made a new one today to try and break out of my current zone, though.
Hope I didn't sound too condescending/bore you with my ramblings on Web 2.0. D:
