So e3 has been over for a while now, and i know it's old news, but it left 2 big announcements: Motion Controls and 3D. In this threat im gonna focuss on only the fist one as it is one of the most discused themes in this e3.

Sony and Microsoft have announced their very own motion controls, the PS Move and the Kinect. The last is seen to be targeted to a more casual field since it looks to be uncapable of suporting hardcore gaes due to the lack of buttons, and to finish it all up, u have to stand up ALL the time, since the camara wont reconize you if you are in a couch or sofa. These are the one of the low points of the periferal in my eyes. I mean, cant play while you are seaten? That kills the whole purpose of gaming, which is rest:cursing::cursing:

In the other hand, Sony's Move, looks to be more like a Wii HD, with 3D support to top it out. It looks as if it were a Motion++ since it uses a track ball rather that a sensor. I know there are people conplaining about this, but Sony took the safe rout through this, and with the support of Hardcore and Casual games (which i like equally) is the best one in the market. Still i dont like having to wave my arms in order to just make my character walk 2 feet, but if i had to choose from these, i would go with the Move.

Anyway, these are my thoughts on the 2, what do you think about them. :D

The Kinect will probably sell poorly and as such will probably lose developer support. Expect it to be as dead as the Kin soon after release.

The Move might have some legs, it depends on whether anyone is going to buy it.

I don't see either features becoming majorly succesful. The consoles are just way too far in their lifetime to add some new peripherals. I see both of these products as just last ditch efforts to compete with the much more succesful Wii while Nintendo moves into new territory (3D handheld)

I disagree. This console cycle is much longer than the previous generations. From what I've heard the next generation wont be announced until 2012 at the earliest. Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo still want to make money and need to move hardwear to do so. The 3DS, Move, New Xbox/Kinetic are all ways for them move hardwear without releasing a new console.

The kinect is going to fail, considering most of the gaming market is hardcore gamers, and kinect has that little kid stuff. The PS3 Move might do alright, considering you can use it on the next SOCOM game, and the SOCOM games are surprisingly huge in sales.

Most of the market is definitely not hardcore gamers, why do you think the Wii sold so well?

By getting the parents and smaller children in the house to want to buy games for the Xbox they increase their profit a ton, the casual market is way bigger than the hardcore market.

Don't worry though, Kinect is just way too pricey among other things. They already said the pre-orders for it are terrible, and they are expecting it to flop.

But they may be using it as a test bed for their future consoles. If they work, then they will make the next consoles with a modernizad version of the controls. But if it doesn't work, then they'll just go back to their normal controls.

I still find it hilarious that Sony and Microsoft are trying to cash in on what Nintendo has been doing for years now.

Now watch as Nintendo starts catering to it's Hardcore members.
