I think this is a good move. I think it would help bring in new members and increase popularity in some less known mods.

This is an awesome idea from my perspective when I first joined INS it was a pretty small division but the division grew as the game grew but lately INS isnt as alive as it was a year ago when I joined. Making this division a multimod will bring more people into this division because we will be able to support other games because some people might not like INS but like FFF (Fist full of Frags) and therefore join this small division making it bigger than it could ever dream of. A bigger division means you can meet more people and make more friends. This could also keep this division in tack if it was to fall apart if no one played INS anymore because of some reason. That means you can still be in the same division without switching to another division with a different environment all together *take it from me* all in all changing INS division into a multimod is a very good idea from my view. Alsooo It might attract talented modders and just image a mod for eGO that we can all be proud of just imagine all the possibility with such a small change. I say heck give it a shot!

Although I like the idea of eGO branching out into more Source mods, I don't know if this is the best way to do it.

The problem is the fact that we will be fragmenting our effort and players. Right now the popularity of Insurgency is dying. That's hard for anyone to deny. It is still one of the more popular HL2 mods, but it's beginning to slowly die out.

What will likely happen when we convert it into a multi-mod division, is the players that we have will go from what is already a somewhat fragmented division into something which is just all over the place. It will be hard to know which mods we should put servers into and which mods should be getting the advertising effort. I believe generally you should do one thing and do it well. In this case I'm afraid that breaking this division into 10 different games will just make the division fizzle and disappear soon after the initial excitement.

Well, see. I like the idea but...that means we have to admin every mod. Will we have servers for all the mods we try? And i still think INS should remain the base game. Maybe still call it the INS division, but put sub forms under INS for the different mods that last a certain time.

So in summary... Not a full division but a sub division based off INS?

I've been playing INS for months now. To see my beautiful Insurgency tag not under my name... :(

But for the sake of our division, we need to do this. Dust2, our top server, 2 months ago was full 24/7. Today, it was entry in the morning.

We've branched into exploring other mods - RNL, and FAS. if we want to continue as a division, were going to have to keep up with the demand.

So I support this, for the most part as of now.

Let me put it this way i joined the INS division because its the INS division, not a multimod division. My problem with this is i dont see people i used to regularly see before people started introducing new mods of the source engine... just how i feel.

The Insurgency division boasts a unique reputation in eGO. This may seem harsh, especially coming from someone not in the division, but if you join other Mods together into the clan then you will lose this identity. What will you be known as then? Would it be a slap in the face to those who have stayed loyal?

If the INS ship is sinking do everything you can to stop it. eGO is well reknown for it's versatility, consistency and retention of members. Use your loyal members. Promote server activity, whatever. If it was my ship, I would not jump ship, I would not tie myself to other half sunk ships so that we can stay afloat, because it is one division united by the love of the game.

I am so impressed by the INS events that are held. I've even signed up for some of the big ones and I don't even play INS very often. But what I can tell is that it's a very well managed division, no doubt about it.

You might lose yourself in adding other mods, excitement for INS may be converted, for they are newer are they not? I get addicted to one thing at a time, one game at a time. That is why I am in one division at a time. What will it mean if the Insurgency division starts running events on other source mods as well?

If anything they should have all 3 logos in a new tripe threat banner.

yes, Im for it, But i Would love to still retain the insurgency title in some way. Maybe Insurgency Source Mods, or ISM, something like that.

We will still be running Insurgency so you can play to your preference. Honestly while the developers are taking their sweet time updating INS to source 2007 (Basically Orange Box) and making Insurgency Classic we should expand by supporting these other Mods. This basically sounds like more or so a survival move, because if INS collapses then so does the entire division, so it's rather converge then lose the whole division? In that case I say we should converge.

No one is jumping INS ship here. We all love the game and will continue to hold our awesome events for INS as well as other games in the division. This is just a move to add other ships to the fleet to make it stronger. The most important thing here is to keep this community together no matter what game we play.

Honestly red, i dont think we'll have to worry about member count and population when the updated INS comes out. Keyword WHEN... :/. That's the only thing that helps me understand how you guys feel about multimodding...

Insurgency is going to remain the top division. We're not losing that game. I'm not even talking about changing division tags. INS is going to be the main division. As of right now, source-mod works on RNL and FA:S, which means MAUL will work on them.

All we're looking to do is branch out a little and add extra games people play. Give more eGO's other options on games to play. The current leadership roster will stay in place as is:

DL's:
Caffeine-rx and Jedihitman will run the division.

Advisors:
Yeti - RNL
Burt_reynolds - FA:S
RT / Pimp / Drunken - INS
IceGladiator - Recruiting

As I stated earlier in a post. When the "NEW" INS comes out, we'll mod over to that version and rock it out! If the INS - Art of Revolution comes out we'll look at that version too.

I agree to have a firearms server fo sho!!!! I love the game and there are a lot of people that love it too!!!! The game will grow for sure and im sure about that. I think we dont have the population to have all the ins servers going and think it will be good to use one for firearms and see if we can get that going..That is my HUGE opinion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
