The Mann-Conomy Update

Right now all I see is the scout has a natascha pistol and the sniper gets immunity to headshots for ultimate corner-hugging body-shotters. I don't want to be too pessimistic about this, but I'm about to rage quit right now.

OMG! Look at this!

Name: Hide 'n' Seek
Class(es): Spy
Pros: Whenever you successfully backstab an enemy you will instantly become disguised as that enemy with the same amount of hp (that their allies will see) as they had.
Cons: -20% normal damage.
Slot: Melee.

Its totally 'Your Eternal Reward'. Wow, creepy?

But, omg, so many cool weapons to get and use now! Thanks you Valve for making the game that much cooler!

Polycount pack---= 50$
Separate bundles-= 20$ ea
Polycount hats---= 17$ ea
Mad Milk---------= 5$

Ahahaha... oh god

Those prices...man are they hard to swallow.

Just got into the store for the first time and my lord, some of those are ridiculous. I'm not going to spend close to $20 for a bunch of aesthetic enhancements to my character.

I'm OK with the idea of micro transactions, I'm not OK with the prices Valve rolled out. Shame too, because I REALLY wanted that whole Spy pack and I figured $5...maybe $10 at the WORST. No way in hell am I paying $20 for it.

Trading, random drops, and crafting it is for me.

I remember when TF2 was about TF2 and not about hats. :(

Yup, if it was $1 an item or something, then I'd consider it. If I had the money to pay $20 for a set of items, I'd probably donate it to eGO first anyway :P

Way back then did you have to go up hill both ways in pouring demo spam to capture the intel too?

You see micro transactions in free to play games all the time, never seen them like this in a full game. The prices are just crazy. Your paying like double what you payed for the game for some items.

Valve will have to reduce it's price once more items make it onto the market. Idling 4 Profit!

History of Valve's TF2 Changes that affected the community.

1. Initial class updates, new weapons unlocked by achievements. Some people whine about achievement servers, but most like this system.

2. The HERP DE DERP update. Random item drops. Random hats. Result? Idle idle idle.

3. Halocaust. Community is divided over the use of a program to idle while not in-game. A special item is created and given to everyone who "didn't cheat".

4. Limited edition medals. Rage ensues over the idea of limited items, but most don't care.

5. Bill's Hat. Defended by players, because it's not paying cash for an item, it's just a small bonus for those getting LFD2! No way Valve would be evil enough to create an actual market for items with real-life currency, right?

6. Sam and Max items. See above.

7. Golden Wrenches. 100 available only. Thanks to this being possibly the worst idea ever, and also having the drop times leak and getting several crafters banned, the engineer update has been forever marred with shame.

8. Polycount update announced. I look at the incoming bloat and nerfs and shake my head.

9. Valve finally implements their true goal all along, cash for items. I uninstall my game and regain about four gigabytes of harddrive space for something other then a virtual hat collector.

True story.
