History of Valve's TF2 Changes that affected the community.
1. Initial class updates, new weapons unlocked by achievements. Some people whine about achievement servers, but most like this system.
2. The HERP DE DERP update. Random item drops. Random hats. Result? Idle idle idle.
3. Halocaust. Community is divided over the use of a program to idle while not in-game. A special item is created and given to everyone who "didn't cheat".
4. Limited edition medals. Rage ensues over the idea of limited items, but most don't care.
5. Bill's Hat. Defended by players, because it's not paying cash for an item, it's just a small bonus for those getting LFD2! No way Valve would be evil enough to create an actual market for items with real-life currency, right?
6. Sam and Max items. See above.
7. Golden Wrenches. 100 available only. Thanks to this being possibly the worst idea ever, and also having the drop times leak and getting several crafters banned, the engineer update has been forever marred with shame.
8. Polycount update announced. I look at the incoming bloat and nerfs and shake my head.
9. Valve finally implements their true goal all along, cash for items. I uninstall my game and regain about four gigabytes of harddrive space for something other then a virtual hat collector.
True story.
