You are BUGGING. Stalker scared the crap out of me on many occasions. Mainly the X labs, and just exploring randomly would bug me out..

Especially when for some reason, you wouldn't hear the mutants moaning, or walking, or NOTHING, then a snork just growls and comes at you within a second. I would pause the game just because i was legit freaked out, reminded myself it was a game, then continued on.

I actually found stalker to be one of the scariest games I've ever played, amongst one of the very best shooter/rpg's I've ever played. I own all three, even though clear sky sucked.

i agree with fabbrini - stalker is the only game i've played that i've actually been startled. silent hill creeped the hell outta me but was never startled.
anywho i really miss this game, i think its time to reinstall and get some mods for it to pretty it up and play again.
maybe i'll do that after fallout new vegas

What is S.T.A.L.K.E.R. about anyways? Never played it, but it looks pretty cool.

A place where all kinds of mutants live and hunt. A place where the standard laws of physics do not apply. The military cordoned off the area, but many people, called Stalkers ("Scavenger, Trespasser, Adventurer, Loner, Killer, Explorer, Robber"), attempt to sneak into The Zone due to rumors of treasures deep within The Zone. In The Zone, are anomalies. Parts of land and areas where physics bend in ways that would normally be impossible. The anomalies create artifacts, strange, mysterious and extremely valuable objects that can grant the user special abilities. Or irradiate them until they die.
