map download help

[stewie574]

when i join a server where i don't have the map, it should auto-download right? well, when i join a map like that on dod:s, it says the map is missing. what should i do?

go online, download it yourself.

place the map file (*.bsp) in:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\<your user name>\day of defeat source\dod\maps

(above is the default path)

if there are other files, it will be fairly evident where to place those.

ok this is how i did it when i had that problem, open your steam prefrances and change both the download region and conection speed or what ever its called also try setting download_debug to 1 in console, now it should work just fine

some servers don't allow client downloads sometimes, thus you have to sometimes manually add it.
