EGO skin

I noticed there is no EGO skin in our CSS server, even if there is many active admin and such. Many clan or Community have skin with they'r clan tag on it and I tought it wouldn't hurt if I made one.

However, I have been warned by an admin there than ''Ego'' is copywrighted, wich is why I make this post.

the two reason are:

would you like to have custom skin? if yes, only for admin or anyone with =(e)= tag?

And who do I have to ask to have the right to do a skin with Ego on it?

eGO does not use server side skin, however I did make few eGO skins long time ago

And I dont think eGO have copyright to block you from making skin using eGO signs

We want our servers to have players to be able to connect quickly, and play even if they have never been there before. Skins are extra downloads not to mention I know they can be a pain to setup. It also uses resources which we don't need to use as they do not make game play any better.

Good idea However I don't think it will be happening.

Yes I understand perfectly. It's always annoying when you get into a server and you have to download stuff witch make the loading time longer, and not talking about those who have internet with limited bandwidth.

Was wondering same thing Korea. Yes, I like the idea of admin skins and such, but sadly, they are a pain in the butt to setup and people who want to connect would have to take more things to load and might disconnect because it is taking so long.

eGO is all about equality in its members also. Skins would only encourage the idea that one person is better than another.

Yeah I dont think its bad idea either, but you have to download the thing everytime you join server and it kinda gets annoying

I first started going into eGO servers (Office mainly) because of the lack of downloads.

I got tired of all the custom skins, "KI-KI-KILLING SPREE" sounds, plugins etc.

A copyright and a trademark are two different things, the =(eGO)= is trademarked, and as far as I know its not a registered trademark.(because of the tm instead of the "r" logo) A trademark doesn't require permission to be attained or used if you are not competing with a product (or in this case competing with another clan) with the same name, furthermore as long as you say the trademark is property of edgegamers and you aren't making financial gains from said trademark (the ego logo) then you can do whatever you want with it.

In short: If you won't make money or compete with Edgegamers, its not a problem if you make the skins.
