Minecraft seems to have the upper hand in efficiency for crafting. Let's see if TF2 has anything to counter with? :P

4 types of hats in Minecraft vs 100+ types of hats in TF2. Minecraft fails as a hat simulator.

Minecraft wins because it's a game made to be for crafting.

TF2 WAS ORIGINALLY AN FPS and now has turned into a horrible craft system with an fps in the background...

TF2 will never be the same for me... Vanilla TF2 will always be better. Hats ruined the game.

Ahh but with the Minecraft skin editor you can make your own hat/helmet whatever color or style you want very easily. And its free no $$, trading or waiting required.

A comparison that makes as much sense...

Now stop arguing since everyone knows TF2 is better anyways.

Loved the infographic.

Also, you cannot create worlds in TF2, neither can you craft hats in Minecraft. The two are not as related as one may think. Therefore I hereby nullify this conversation, stealing all of your hats, weapons, metal, and tokens, and crafting them into a giant nuke that decimates your Minecraft world, thus defeating the entire world in one fell stroke.

sweet I'll just start another server file and create a new world.

I don't know why hats are a big deal. Being with TF2 since it was first released, has given me a greater appreciation of why they added content, not to mention talking to other contributors that had some items published. Yes the math for a hat is mind boggling
Code:
1 Crate = 2.26%
2 Crates = 4.5%
3 Crates = 6.6%
4 Crates = 8.75%
5 Crates = 10.8%
6 Crates = 12.8%
7 Crates = 14.8%
8 Crates = 16.7%
9 Crates = 18.6%
10 Crates = 20.5%
15 Crates = 29.1%
20 Crates = 36.8%
25 Crates = 43.6%
30 Crates = 49.7% <- 50/50 odds at 30 crates
35 Crates = 55.1%
40 Crates = 60.0%
45 Crates = 64.3%
50 Crates = 68.2%
55 Crates = 71.6%
60 Crates = 74.7%
65 Crates = 77.4%
70 Crates = 79.9%
80 Crates = 84.0%
90 Crates = 87.3%
100 Crates = 89.9%
125 Crates = 94.3%
150 Crates = 96.8%
175 Crates = 98.2%
200 Crates = 98.98%
225 Crates = 99.42%
250 Crates = 99.67%
275 Crates = 99.82%
300 Crates = 99.89%
350 Crates = 99.967%
400 Crates = 99.9895%
450 Crates = 99.9967%
500 Crates = 99.9989%

Thats just for unusual hats.

Frankly, its a sense of randomness to the game. Its not like some online games or like Xbox Live where you have to pay to play online with friends and not everything can be bought in the a store. Just for the numbers: If you could buy crates, with an estimated price of $7.99 to be fair, it would somewhere about $3995. Thats enough for 200 copies of TF2.

Either way both games cost about the same. And both have their quarks but both are fun. Yay
