Motion to Change Title of MOD Division

Well said Zeak and Barmy. I agree 100%. I understand that many members may want to keep the name b/c of our roots, but it is time for change. We need something new, something different. It really has no point into renaming the division back to INS... i understand that people may say it because of the meaning of the word, yet that doesn't really apply to this division or the games we are diving into. I understand we stick out and want to do things differently but that doesn't make us an "insurgency". I voted for SWAT, yet TAC is fine with me. This is just my two cents, do not mean to be rude.

Probably a great suggestion...especially if leadership isn't going to want to keep INS no matter what the vote is - especially if it is close.

Death the comment you had there a before you changed it was very hipocritical.
Because the name ins would divide the division into 2 parts as you said in an earlier message you would have to tell people we also cover crisis 2 and red orcestra 2.
The new name is about bringing in more games under the one new heading
as one division not one divide.

INS was the first game we had, just because we add others doesn't mean we have to change the name because of them... with the other names people(pubs) will have NO idea at all what games are getting covered, while with INS we cover the roots of this division ( i know most of you don't understand but if you were oldschool like some of us you'd understand and its not something we can explain ) plus people will realize that we have more than at first sight, which makes it much more exciting for them to discover all that we are.
We have a saying here.. don't fix something that is not broken.. some change is good, some change is not so good.

Death Ive been playing ins since it came out you really don't need to question peoples feeling's or on how long they have been in ego or the division.

we changed to MOD to cover all of the mods we played not just ins.

And this is the same situation were in now but with the added bonus we get the choice of name.
I joined eGO because of INS and i have and do everything i can for INS
as i said does express our origin as in past
But not our future of were we want to be.
yes eGO supports ins but that may not always be the case in the future.
so why would we change our name to something we have already had that does not cover the other 2 games at all.
let alone have to maybe change again if and when eGO say enough is enough with the INS servers.
we should be thinking for the long term future of the division and not on what we have currently.

and currently we have started new servers for 2 new games and awaiting the release of both of their sequels.

you guys might be INS at heart but we are no longer INS division. for those who were at the big meeting where hammer discussed holding onto the servers as long as possible as long as their populated because the game is dying... that should be enough proof.

yes... INS is where we came from. but as stated, INS is most def not where we are going.

try and think about the better of the division as a whole and how confusing it can be for a new recruit to come into INS division recruited into RO or crysis. especially if it came down to having one INS server. and then on top of that if INS completely goes away us going through ANOTHER name change.

I really don't think ANY of you want to get into this. You guys are missing the point, put your pride aside and stop thinking about your damn selves. You're lucky we still have servers in INS, thanks to your leadership that serve YOU they're still there. How about for once thinking about this division as a whole instead of INS. Council saw no reason to keep pumping money into INS because of the population and server ranking drop. Hell i haven't seen the event server or dust full for the past 4 nights when it was always crowded frequently night and day.

If it hasn't sparked in your head by now there's not much else i can do for you. I think its in the best interest of everyone if you put YOUR DIVISION'S TAG ON, it makes us look bad when people come into our forum sections and see people with a non-existent division's tag on. I can keep going for a while I'm just here to convey what leadership wants you guys to understand but you arrogantly will not accept. Say what you want to me after this but quite frankly i don't care. You guys are thinking about yourselves before your division, you've forgotten what eGO is about.

well leadership must have been happy to have the name ins put in for the vote or they wouldnt have allowed it in there to be voted on.

Let me clear this up right now. (I'm not picking on you Barmy, this is for everyone)

This poll is for leadership to get an idea on the top 3 names. Leadership will make the final decision on the division's name. Not this poll. All names that have been added to the poll have been added in an objective manner. This is to see what YOU guys want. Ultimately Council will have to approve any name that we suggest anyway.

Further by voting for INS because it is "old school" or "miss it" will not bring any servers back. Insurgency is a slot machine right now. We can keep pumping in eGO-donated quarters, and every now and then get a quarter back; however, in the long run we would end up broke. I'm not trying to sway your votes, but what I am trying to say is that if you're voting for INS thinking that it will become a division based solely on INS mod again you are mistaken.

Gunney... the phrase "INS IS DYING" and that Leadership is the only one fighting for its survival its false. Even thou they vouch for it to Council... WE are the ones who are responsible for keeping the game alive, not leadership. And your theory is wrong, we don't just think of ourselves, and the division tags have nothing to do with this. Once INS was changed to MOD, Leadership gave us the option to keep whichever tag we like. Just because the name is different doesn't mean we have to follow it. That's what we are about, freedom, not following every damn thing you think we must. This is the point. We are free to do whatever the hell we like, and are not pinned to only one option. We have always been a different division than any other, and we always will be, and just because we are different does NOT mean we are not united. Stop with your false thoughts and realize that we are given this freedom because, simply, we are that awesome. Leadership, and every single MOD/INS (w/e) member related to the Recruiting or Event Coordinator's groups are trying to do their best to keep you motivated and entertained so YOU can keep INS alive. It is not up to Leadership, but to US to keep INS alive. If we all put a little bit more love into INS, Leadership wont have to deal with council to keep the servers. Now you need to understand the point and stop making a fool out of yourself.

What about the new recruits that want to join Crysis 2 or RO2 and don't even know what INS is?

Then we will show them what INS is, and they will love it, because I've never seen one person who was shown the true meaning of the game, turn his back on it. And even IF they do, I'm sure it wont be too much to ask for Council to make a one or two new tags that cover both other games, or just one of them, so we have them satisfied as well.

Division went pretty much down by converting it to "MOD". Of course we had to try it before because ins was loosing its blood. But being "MOD" didn't help much. Instead of changing division name to MOD we could have create a new division for the other games. Also, we named it MOD mainly for supporting free source mod games. Now we are talking about having crysis and orchestra. They are not related to source. No problem with them, just saying it.

And now, I don't know what would be the best.

thinking of the future of the division as a whole would be in mine and everyone Else's best interest.
if we don't take on the new games we will have no division to worry about ego could pull the plug and we all go our own way.
but our leadership have done a fantastic job fighting for our division to stay and the future of the division now looks stronger than it has been in a while.
please lets forget the past concentrate on the future and what we can do to make it the best darn division in eGO.
sitting here arguing is not going to fill the servers or recruit new members and we could go round in circles all day and night.
we have had out position made clear to use lets work together not against each other
