Downloading Maps.

Hi umm I got a problem, just say i join a server with a map I dont have, it should download it no problem and I should be able to play, right?
Well, sometimes when I join a server playing a map I dont have it starts downloading it, then when it finishes downloading I get an error saying: Map missing. Then I get discconected, and therefore cant play that server.

Anyone know how I can fix this?

try finding the maps on fpsbannana

You need to go into your steam files and delete the map.

Program Files/Steam/steamapps/<name>/teamfortress2/tf/maps

Once there, select the map(s) you wish to delete and delete them. Rejoin the server and it should be fixed. You will have to re-download the map though.

When it says that you dont have the map and you cant download it it means that server doesnt have it own site where that map is, so you can download it and then you need to download it by your own. As they said you can try on fpsbannana. Something like that, you can see that on eGO servers it downloads by its own if you dont have map.

Well not on all eGO servers. Yesterday I tried to play the event server but map wouldnt download anyways Ill download them from some site then thanks for the help guys!

When you open the options menu in TF2, select the multiplayer tab. Near the bottom right there will be a dropdown menu that lets you select "allow all custom files from server".

Perhaps yours isnt selected

but i connect like 5000 times and always happens xd but i already fixed the problem i just download the maps liek everyone told me to do ^^
